oh goody. i get to talk about one of my favourite things and that is audacity.
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
you can record anything coming over your computer - music, lectures etc.
you can use it to make your cassettes in to cd's.
you can use it to put your old LP's on cd.
you can also do a number of other Intelligent Things with it, but i don't know what because i am not Intelligent enough.
and - it's free! wheee!
