Assalam alaykum brothers and sisters.

I hope you are all in the best state of Health and Iman Insha'allah.

I once was just sitting @ home..had to make homework, but i couldnt
concentrate, coz i had so much frustrasion from ppl around me who are muslim, but dont show their islamic identity. Makes me imsad So i wrote this thing, what i started to rap...lol

And i was jus curious what you guys think of it. I dont mind getting criticized. I think thats healthy right? Also bcoz english is not my native language i had a little trouble whit making proper sentences. Enough said, I'll let you start reading (it sounds better if you rap it)!

~~~~~~~
What happened to the muslims of today?
Ashamed of their religion, embarressed to say:
"Im a believer... five times a day i pray".
Afraid they might say: "Believing is not of this age,
And your God is fake?" (astaqfirullah)
Those people laughing at you, are just confused.
Coz they're blinded from the truth.
So walk with your head up high.
Dont be afraid to testify: "There is no God but Allah"
the one and only i worship, for as long as im alive.
Some people think, muslims are not allowed to have fun.
Coz all the so called entertainment is haram.
Well, let me ask you this: What do you know about Islam?
What you see is our mosques, bearded men, covered women.
Maybe you've heard something of the quran...our Emams and Ramadan.
But you dont see the purity that lies behind it all.
What God has forbidden is to save us from self-destruction.
How many families have been broken due to alcohol abuse?
Soon the joy of drinkin turns into an addiction.
You better leave the clubs and drugs for it will do you no good.
Just turn your back to it, like we all should.
Avoid the evil and bad, that's what islam says.
Proclaim the good and be a rollmodel to your neighbourhood.
So many people are lost looking for the answer to all of
world's cruelty. Im telling you this right here, The answer is Islam!!
So muslims dont you see, dont be afraid to show your islamic identity.
Leading people to God's way is our responsibility.
Hold tight to this believe and never give up the inner fight.
The fight against our selfish, vain and greedy souls.
Its time to rise o muslims from darkness to light
(Yeah from darkness to light)
This message came from ma heart and i hope it reaches yours
I pray for a brighter day, May Allah show us the way!
Peace/Wassalam alaykum.
Sister Hayaat.
I like your poem, Hayaat! :)
Out of interest, is rapping permitted in Islam?
Peace
^^^^ (glo) why not??? it's only vocal. Rapping doesn't need music instrument.
and as for sis Hayaat, that was really well put!!! wanna hear you rap it out:okay: jk.
Good job sis keep it. and don't let people get to you!!!
Assalam alaikum
Thanks guys. Im glad you like it! And you're right sis Rabiyal about rapping, as long as there are no music instruments involved its permitted. I prefer beatboxing anyways :)
aww... mashallah dear sister! ....i presume u lyk poetry as well? lol
thanks sis, i do like poetry but not that i can write any.:giggling: Its a fun way to express your feelings though. I think we should use all our talents to proclaim the message of Islam. Especially when it comes to our youth, they want something to be COOL and Exciting in order to pay attention. I took my younger brother to a lecture once..he fell asleep in front of the da'ee:uhwhat. lol yeh but i cant blame him. Some lectures are just looong and booooring!
Peace/Wa Salam
Wow MashaAllah,
Assalamu Aleykum,
I think sister as you said the Message came from your heart, from what I saw it seems as if it was something you didn't think of much, meaning that you had something you wanted to bring that message out and you did and it came out. When people write rap it tends to come from a couple of channels, one can write with the intention to make this solely a song so they start not knowing what to write and then go and they focous on the technicality of the rhyming and so on, the other way is that you have a message and so you try to put a message into a song, which is what seems you have done, which I like loads, though I think it could do with some fine tuning, something that always needs to happen when a person uses the second method.
Hope that makes sense.
If you want you can take a look at some of my 'Pre-Islamic Poetry' tell me what you think.
