Marwen made a great thread here to post your fav. meal with pictures and even a recipe if you have one, so I thought it would be complimentary to also have a dessert thread. (Imraan also make a snack thread here.)

I made these today for the family:http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo318/QuietWind_album/DSCN1015.jpg click here. (The image would be too large in size for the forum.)

They are called forgotten cookies, because you can make them before bedtime and "forget" about them until you wake up in the morning. The traditional method is made this way:

Heat oven to 400 degrees F.

IN a bowl, whip 2 egg whites until stiff. Add in 2/3 cup sugar and continue to whip until stiff. With a spoon, gently stir in chocolate chips and nuts. (The choc. and nuts are optional. Or put something else or eliminate one of those.)

Line a cookie sheet with foil and grease the foil. Drop by spoonfuls onto the greased foil. Place into the oven and then turn off the oven. Leave it overnight (forget it!). If you make them this way it is important to TURN OFF the oven after you put the cookies in and do not open the oven to peek at all.

If you do not want to make them overnight, a second option is to only heat your oven to 325.... make the cookies and then bake them for about 2-3 hours. Keep checking on them until they begin to very, very slightly brown on top. After 2 hours if they are looking set, but not slightly brown yet, you may want to turn off the oven and leave them in for the remainder of the time.

I prefer having simple desserts, based on fresh fruits. For examaple I love Strawberry Milkshake :

and you can add to it any type of fruit if you want.

^ermmm..do they have Chocolate Flavour?

Anything with Chocolate goes for me : )
I think you can put some chocolate on strawberries, I never tried it, but I heard it's very delicious, may be I'll try it in the next days.

Thanx bro, this Kunafah sems really delicious :playing:. And it's filled with cheese, I love that

And the best thing I like about kunafah is that it is served without sugar....the sugar syrup is served on the side. So you get to choose how sweet you want it to be.

Check out this Turkish delicacy:

The first one looks a lil like Rice, could you please name them?
Are they Somalian food right?

The first is called gashaato which is coconut based confection, it does not really look like rice i think the camera made it look like that.

The second one is called Halwo.

Yeh they are somali dessert.

This one is called tiramisu which is italian/somali dessert:
