The latest test from virus.gr includes 52 different anti virus applications. They were rigorously tested using 174,770 virus samples, and the settings of each application were tweaked to ensure that they all caught maximum number of viruses (despite increasing the possibility that the the software would be more likely to return a false positive).

Kaspersky eats up your memory, Nod 32 dosent bother you at all.

Kaspersky is the best protection, but not the best overall.

Even though Kaspersky is at the top of the list. I don't like it, i bought it once and installed it, but i did not like it. I prefer McAfee.

i hate norton. i think it's a good program, but they are hard to deal with.
last year i got daring and switched to trend micro antivirus. it seems to be just fine - so far so good, anyway.

If you live in Californa maybe you should convert to Macintosh instead? Its a Californian company, and they have no viruses at all.

I've used several of the antiviruses listed above and i can say that kaspersky really deserves its 1st place. however it has compatibilty issues with other spyware or firewall programs. i used it with spy doctor and it used to block action from the spy program. so i switched to NOD32. good antivirus as well.

they are all irritating because they make your computer slow

You use Norton! Its like the worst one, it always asks for evereything, a good antivirus software should know whats bad without asking for permissions.

And it makes the computer slow.

I suggest you use Nod32, or install Linux instead to not havign to have an anti virus at all.
