There were multiple migrations into Japan. They came from many directions. Because of background some Japanese are very dark and some are very light and every shade inbetween.

My experience says differently. I found there attitude to be: Not an attitude I share, but it is what I found to be true when I lived there.

The lighter the better. Dangerous drugs are used to bleach the skin and whiting makeup is most commonly used. Servants and lower classes work outside and become darker, so liter is associated with success.

Yes... to most Asian girls. Actually, those whitening regiments make their skins so thin that make the moustache visible.
