Chesed. It's when someone does something devious for another, in secret and without them knowing. A mercy. For instance, when you over-hear your neighbor worrying about her electric service being shut off so you pay your neighbor's electric bill for them. The folks at the counter never ask for ID when you say; I forgot my account number, but here's the address and how much do you want? It's got a kind of cool signature to it... like a good secret.

one word :blind: mmmm

i know i turn everything into a thesis but!

this idea of wanting to be remembered, i dont understand it!

when youre gone, people can only remember you for some time, and then they will forget you and carry on with their lives, and even if they do speak of you after youre gone, how will their remembering benifit you in any way!

SubhanAllah, the only thing i am concerned with is if i have remembered Allah enough and if in turn Allah has chosen to remember me out of his infinite mercy.

If youve watched Troy, u will find in there this stupid idea of wanting to be remembered.Do you know why these people killed so many others, simply becuase they wanted to write their names in history (with the blood of others), they were so afraid of being forgotten that they killed with a madness and ruthlessness, in order to be mentioned after they were long gone, but dear achillies is not profiting from our remembering now is he, if only he knew!

and end of story! :)

I agree with everything you said.:)

I got the idea for this thread because in arabic literature, there are certain people that are constantly alluded to in poems, stories, etc. Like Hatim is remembered by all people as having been generous, Al Kusa'ee for being regretful, Juha for being nosy. Obviously there's stuff you'd rather be remembered for than others, so this thread is to see what characteristic each person finds most important..
