Where is hope?
(a Poem about Palestine)
by Mahmuda
The wings that flutter softly
In sun and even in rain
I hear them no longer hardly
Only suffering and pain
The cries and hurt of children
The mothers sighing wail
The sadness endured within
By the tyrants that assail
The hungry thirsty child
Denied the fruits of life
Held back by destruction
Shall taste of Paradise
The Sirens Song of beauty
Is the Song calling death
And some respond dutifully
While hope takes one last breath
And softly the wings flutter
Like a Phoenix from the ash
For أ¢â‚¬إ“Hope أ¢â‚¬? was a childأ¢â‚¬â„¢s mutter
Before he breathed his last
The word was heard by many
His mother proclaimed to all
أ¢â‚¬إ“He gave hopeأ¢â‚¬? to all his family
Her son so young so small
His last hope brings to hearts
That one day fighting may cease
As hope regains her course flight
Hope within hearts beats
