:sl: That is truly beautiful sis. Every single word from the Koran holds it's beauty in every way....................

I love to recite the drood shariff The words the sound the peace i feel from reading/reciting it is undescribable............

Also i love to hear the drood shariff being recited........... Sami Yusuf did a very touching nasheed and recitation which is just absolutely amazing and magical. ............ Allah has Blessed him with a beautiful harmonious voice and he has used it, wisely and in the manner where he recites and mentions Allah. What better way to thank Allah by using his voice in the way he does................ Ameen.:w::thankyou:

I love Surat "Qaf" especially this part:

Verily, with every difficulty there is relief.
Verily, with every difficulty there is relief.
Qur'an 94:5-6

This made me get over some sad events. :shade:

Favourite Surah , Ar-Rahman

(One of my) Favourite Ayah :"Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?"

:sl:
I like a couple of ayahs from surah

26. It was said: "Enter thou the Garden." He said: "Ah me! Would that my People knew (what I know)!
27. "For that my Lord has granted me Forgiveness and has enrolled me among those held in honor!"

I like it because it sounds so real to me.I mean the person who states these words is like a friend who entered in Jannah and sent me this message.

very very lovly words, barak Allah feek

presently, I am very pleased by the first five ayah (what is the plural of ayah in Arabic?) of surah al-Alaq.

If you start the Qur'an like this with the mindset that Allah is talking to YOU, then you have Allah swt telling you "Read in the name of your lord!" It will make you tremble and you have to keep going!

And the flow of these words is amazing; I don't understand Arabic grammar yet, but I can tell how masterfully crafted these words are. I see how you really cannot match anything like it from only these first five ayah!
khalaq - create
alaq - clot
Aalam - teach
Qalam - pen
YaAlam - know

how beautiful! Aalam al-insana ma lam yaAlam.

I never understood the true power of Qur'an until this experience!

I've always loved the beginning verses of surat Al Anbiya, subhanAllah, they ring so true.

"Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away. Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- Their hearts toying as with trifles The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" " [21:1-3]

:sl:

i think the most touching ayah to me is :

10. And the heart of the mother of Musa (Moses) became empty [from every thought, except the thought of Musa (Moses)]. She was very near to disclose his (case, i.e. the child is her son), had We not strengthened her heart (with Faith), so that she might remain as one of the believers.

11. And she said to his [Musa's (Moses)] sister: "Follow him." So she (his sister) watched him from a far place secretly, while they perceived not.

12. And We had already forbidden (other) foster suckling mothers for him, until she (his sister came up and) said: "Shall I direct you to a household who will rear him for you, and sincerely they will look after him in a good manner?"

13. So did We restore him to his mother, that she might be delighted, and that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the Promise of Allah is true. But most of them know not.

i dont know why!!
i think it maybe coz of the way Allah praises the sacrifice of musa a.s.'s mum...
and whos praise can be higher than the All praised himself!!!

:sl:

Jazakallaahu khayran for this thread. It is too difficult to pin-point one verse to be the most touching or favourite. So I'll just mention a couple that come to mind...

They stained his shirt with false blood. He said: "Nay, but your minds have made up a tale (that may pass) with you, (for me) patience is most fitting: Against that which ye assert, it is Allah (alone) Whose help can be sought". (12:18)

The lessons of patience are amazing in soorah Yusuf, especially when Yusuf's father responds with the above.

I also like verses that talk about the Qur'an itself, such as:

We have not instructed the (Prophet) in Poetry, nor is it meet for him: this is no less than a Message and a Qur'an making things clear... (36:69)

Their meaning and their structure is always very beautiful, subhanAllaah!

Can't believe I forgot this one, it's so beautiful:

"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things." (27:35)

And these as well, subhanAllah, so true:

"Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep? Or else did they feel secure against its coming in broad daylight while they played about (care-free)? Did they then feel secure against the plan of God?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of God, except those (doomed) to ruin!" (7:97-99)

What does that verse mean to you?

To the OP.

[2:177] Righteousness is not turning your faces towards the east or the west. Righteous are those who believe in GOD, the Last Day, the angels, the scripture, and the prophets; and they give the money, cheerfully, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the traveling alien, the beggars, and to free the slaves; and they observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat); and they keep their word whenever they make a promise; and they steadfastly persevere in the face of persecution, hardship, and war. These are the truthful; these are the righteous.

With the exception of some parts that deal with Muhammad's personal life or legalistic matters (like inheretance law) I really like all the Qur'an though

:w:

I love every single verse of the Quran; yet there are some very close to my heart.

And when Abraham prayed: My Lord! Make this a region of security and bestow upon its people fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day, He answered: As for him who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of Fire - a hapless journey's end! (126) And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House, (Abraham prayed): Our Lord! Accept from us (this duty). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower. (127) Our Lord! And make us submissive unto Thee and of our seed a nation submissive unto Thee, and show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Relenting, the Merciful. (128) Our Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among them who shall recite unto them Thy revelations, and shall instruct them in the Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, Wise. (129) And who forsaketh the religion of Abraham save him who befooleth himself? Verily We chose him in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he is among the righteous. (130) When his Lord said unto him: Surrender! he said: I have surrendered to the Lord of the Worlds. (131)

So who henceforth will give the lie to thee about the judgment? (7) Is not Allah the most conclusive of all judges? (8)

What does that verse mean to you?

Well, all it is is Allah comparing his light to something we can imagine. The reason I love it is not just because of the meaning though; I love it because of the exquisite imagery of the description. For its literary aspects rather than just for the meaning.
