:sl: wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

Ok.. this is going to be easy. :zip: :zip:

I became a Muslim on the hands of at-Tufayl ibn Amr, the chieftain of the Daws tribe to which he belonged. When at-Tufayl returned to his village after meeting the Prophet peace be upon him and becoming a Muslim in the early years of his mission, I was one of the first to respond to his call. When at-Tufayl visited Makkah again, I accompanied him. There he had the honor and privilege of meeting the noble Prophet peace be upon him who asked me:

"What is your name?"

"Abdu Shams - Servant of a Sun," I replied.

"Instead, let it be Abdur-Rahman - the Servant of the Beneficent Lord," said the Prophet peace be upon him.

"Yes, Abdur-Rahman (it shall be) O Messenger of Allah," I replied.

Here's another one:
I shot the first arrow for Islam.

Who am I?

Btw, I encourage members to make use of the Biographies of Islamic figures section. If you don't find one of your Islamic heros there, post their bio!

actually, I'm not sure about the arrow thing anymore, but I know he shed the first blood for Islam. So, no, not Ubaidah.

I will try to put up a Question insha Allah.

" I Reached every possible place place for shahadah, but it was written in my fate that i should dieon my bed. In My opinion there is no deed more dearer than my waiting with my horse and shield in the darkness of night, the sky to be glittering due to the rain, waiting for the onset of dawn, so that i can attack the enemy"

Who said this?

I copied this from my own thread the Q is not mine :p

Assalamu 'alaikum

I embraced Islam before the battle of badr but i didnt fight in it. I am one the best looking companion of the Prophet, peace be upon him, in Madinah. It was said that when Jibreel, peace be upon him, came down in the form of a man, he took my appearance. Whenever i entered a city, people were curious to see me.
