Who Speaks Swahili Here?

i think different parts of East Africa speak different swahili

we say
drinks= kinywaji,,(remember u dnt pronounce it kiny,,u say kin-yi-waji) a lil bit hard
water=maji

Well that could be the case. The Swahili I know (or the lack of it in my case) is spoken in Kenya, Mombassa.

Do you know this song: mamako star, star! Ana koola fish, fish, ooji na coke! Lol.

And how about this one: samaki akeoza msintoope, mtafote malimawo mkaooshe…..Lol, classic!

manamuke = woman
kijana = young man
msichana = girl
dada = sister
kaka = brother
baba = father
mama = must I say this one?
enda = go
kuja = come
nataka = I want
nini = what?

I don't know anything.

I had family living in Kenya and Nairobi but we are all in the UK now. :D I was born in the UK so I have no idea of the language.

Does chai mean tea? :?
 
Yea Chai means Tea..I was born in Tanzania..Forgot da language but kinda learnt some of it when I went back couple times..Probably won't b any beta than u...

Lol.. my grandma was saying it was something else.. I don't remember myself now. :? And we had a Kenyan teacher and when I said it to her, she was like no, tea is chai and I was like :? . lol

I was born in the UK, never spoken it with anyone, not even learnt it. Well, I did learn bits and bobs from grandma, uncles and aunties ... but I've even forgotten that. :offended: lol

I'm sure you know MORE than me because right now, I think I only know chai. :p
