"Why is it that I never see Mika'il smiling?"

[Ibn Abi Ahmed]

1 - Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah said to Jibril:

"Why is it that I never see Mika'il smiling?"

Jibril replied: "Mika'il has not smiled since Hell was Created."

[Narrated by Ahmad, and it is in 'Sahih at-Targhib wat-Tarhib' (3664)]


2 - Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:

"If there were 100,000 or more people in this mosque - one of them being one of the inhabitants of Hell who took a breath - this breath of his would cause the entire mosque to burn up along with everyone in it."

[Reported by al-Bazzar and Abu Ya'la, and it is in 'Sahih at-Targhib wat-Tarhib' (3668) and 'as-Silsilah as-Sahihah' (2509)]

Jazak'Allahu khayran for the bump... A great lesson. I remember a saying which goes something like this: a shaykh asked those around him: Wouldn't it be strange that you see a dweller of Jannah crying? They replied: Yes, it would, ya shaykh. Then he replies: So how can we laugh in this world when we don't know whether we'll end up in Jannah or not?

I am not accusing the hadith to be wrong, but it could a be a typo that the Angel should Malik the gatekeeper of Hell not Mik'aeel عليهما سلام

Yeah bro you might be right but I also heard this hadith in maybe the Death Series of Shaykh Feiz حفظه الله with Malik ‘عليه سلام in it and Allah سبحانه و تعالى knows best.
