Why is the forum restored back to 3 days?

I'm not one to really complain, but it has just ?????? me right off!
The past few days threads deleted AGAIN! Cant you tell us when you're going to do this! It will save us from writing up important stuff! Some things cant be said again the second time!:raging: :mad: :offended: :grumbling :heated: !!!!

That's no good now is it!
I mean you've done this before, fair do's, with all due respect i think you missed a trick! Next time try PM-ing us to let us know it's going to happen...Why the heck should we put effort and time into posts and comments [more serious matters] when just a few hours later they're all to be deleted along with the other days...!

If i pm then it be a bit pointless since the Pms's will disspear with the restore :D

Come again?
If you PM before the incident will take place, we'll get informed, from there on it does not matter if the PM gets deleted afterwards. The whole point is to give us some notice...A day or two in advanced so we all get the message and not bother logging on at all! With me? I feel you aren't...

I'm sorry but I feel the forum is going down in its standards, and I'm not being rude, but this last 'breakdown' was really annoying. Some of us spend so much time and effort into making threads and posts.

LI Forum is one of the best forums I've been on, so please, make the forum reliable.

If i did send a PM out giving 2 days or so notice then basically the whole forum would be inoperable for 2 days especially if the Tables are corrupted.

Infact even if the tables get corrupted PM'in would be impossible since it wouldnt work.

Once Something happens its difficult to notify members Especially if the Forum database Crashes since nothing is accessible you then have to run a restore

I have last nights backup I could try running that again but im not sure when it got corrupted If i did Restore Last nights backup i could be restoring the corrupted version. The nearest backup i had after last night was 3 days ago which was the weekly backup, it could have been a lot worse

This issue was down to "User Error" Not Technical Error, was due to moderators Mass deleting threads and posts

If you were a sysadmin then you would understand issues in Server management. The forum grows day by day with growth issues occurs

No point in me explaining any further

Actually because of the Mass Deletion Before it crashed the posts were 549,000

The restore from 3 days which i have done is 622,00 has restored 73,000 posts

last 3 days posts were only 1800

like i said Its not the Server this server has a high spec it was down to user error

Well take a look again at your pannel of main thread deleters...

It's better to gove notice, us not posting than us posting getting no notice and then you getting somewhat angry members chasing answers...Go back 2days or even 3, things were going swimmingly well..So the PM would have been a good idea mate

No problem :)

It is backed up in 3 stages

1) Daily backup which does it everynight

2) Weekly Backup

3) Monthly Backup

Backups are made everynight at 1:30am (Yank Time) not sure waht that is in UK! so problem is if i did restore it from last night it would have restored a corrupted one

Alhumdulillah its not that bad cos its only 2 / 3 days old this backup or else it would have been restored from 7 days ago which would have been nuts

no worries anyway sorry once again ill make sure the mods move it instead of deleting it..i did mention to em last time!

its quite fustration aswell cos it takes ages restoring everything up and losing alot of information i understand i feel the same :(
