Why is the forum restored back to 3 days?

problems always happen. it's TECHNOLOGY what do you expect? and it aint a situation between life and death, so u just have to live with it.

Yes, it is not only yourselfs who may be angry. there are the other 10,791 users too, but u just need to understand. These thing happen, and u just have to live with it :)

As frustrating as this is for everyone, it isn't brother S's fault nor is it the server, so it's unfair to let out your anger in this way. We didn't know this was going to happen, otherwise we would have told everyone 3 days ago and we wouldn't have to lose anything.

The best thing we can say is:

Qaddarallaahu wa maa shaa'a fa'al.

Allaah has decreed and what He wills, He does.

And this is related to the following hadeeth:

--- It happens you know, it happened a few times to me as well. One thing for bro -S-, you should go to PHPMyAdmin and backup all the tables in the database, and then restore it when you need to.

Admins you can always PM me if you need help, i know quite a lot about vBulletin powered forums, and also i have a friend who works for Jelsoft ltd. i can ask him as well.

Note: And it's always best to get a server which backup everything from time to time (daily), because we humans are sometimes forgetful.

yeh we actualyl do this backup the vbulletin database....It backsup to the secondary HD on the server + offsite backup does it everynight plus weekly and monthly!

To err is Human. But, it takes a computer to totally mess things up.


Keep in mind the entire forum is operated on the HDD's of a computer(server). Sometimes glitches happen, either through human error or through mechanical problems or both.

Sometimes a problem can look minor and be rapidly fixed, but then it turns out the repair process in itself crashes the system.

It is very frustrating to be the Admin on a forum, when there is a crash.

Let us all make Du'a for Brother -S- that the causes for this recent frustration are over and that the future will bring less trials. Let us all thank him for his perseverance in being there and willing to work to resolve the issues instead of taking the day off for a well deserved rest.

well the only thing is we managed to get back 73,000 posts which is somewhat consolation!

Actually bro maybe if u know ur mate at jelsoft ask if its possible to import members from another vbulletin forum to this one?
