What word begins with 'h', ends with 'n', contains six letters, and contains eight words besides itself without transposing a single letter?

:sl:

"Without transposing" means without exchanging the position of a single letter in the word.

Regarding the answer to this word puzzle, I'm going to guess "Herein" ?

Reason being:

"He"
"Her"
"Here"
"Ere" (I think this is a word)
"Re"
"Rein"
"I"
"In"

In each of these puzzles, a list of words is given. To solve the puzzle, think of a single word that goes with each to form a compound word (or word pair that functions as a compound word).

For example, if the given words are volley, field, and bearing, then the answer would be ball, because the word ball can be added to each of the other words to form volleyball, ballfield, and ball bearing.

okay now here is the words:

1) * go
* there
* seen

2)* hard
* under
* up

i gave everyone two different ones

can anyone explain what transposing mean?? i still dont understand, not good at english

Salams

Transposing means to rearange the letters

For example in the word letters i can make the word let without transposing but to make the word set i have to transpose (rearange the letters)

hope it helps

Assalaamu alaikum,

I found a book called "Word Winks" (The cover is illustrated below). This (and there are others by the same publisher) is available at http://www.amazon.ca/Mindware-Origi...TF8&qid=1422139826&sr=8-1&keywords=word+winks We've had lots of fun trying to figure out the various idioms illustrated. If anyone knows how to increase the size a bit, that would help! I'll write three of the answers below to give help give a feel of how these puzzles work.

InshAllah, you'll enjoy these puzzles! God Bless you my brothers and sisters in Islam.

The first box on the upper left is for the expression: hand in hand

The one next to it on the right is: say when!

The one one the upper right is: Too close for comfort.
