unfortunately, sexual perversion has come to such an extreme in today's day and age that some people would answer "as long as she is engaging in 'safe sex'. although id be embarassed." if the father is divorced or dead, as is the case (especially with the divorce). They would be somewhat ok with their mother dating a new man, (but feel awkward since they feel their father is being replaced), and wallahi i am not making this up, there are people in the West who would answer, "my mom's divorced, so so long as she is engaging in 'safe sex'" But of course, there are many other reasons not to committ zina. may Allah guide the non practicing muslimeen and the kuffar to true Islam. Allahu alam.

Yes the main reason not to commit zina is that it is a grave sin and it is a very serious thing, we should find another way to convince people who are engaged in zina other than would you like it for your mother i believe this is a disaster because it is against the fitra of the man. But we should be kind while talking to them, of course it is more complicated than that because we believe that some people dont listen but actually being kind and not saying harsh words really change the heart.
