Princess that name is definitely Indonesian, you can tell that from a mile away ;D Malays dont have weird names like that anymore :p

ok well i have a problem...my Qu'ran teacher said to me that my name should be spelled like this in english >>> "Naziyah".....is that like correct because in arabic its like this >>> نازيا

so does that mean i have to change the spelling of my name in english? any advice and know-how would be greatly appreciated inshAllah.

you don't have to change ur name in English, cos, for example:

you could say this in a number of ways in English: Salam

Sallaam
Salam
Salaam

You get me?

As long as the pronounciation is correct, then it shud b ok.

Sorry...but that's incorrect. since your name in Arabic is نازيا the English spelling should be without the 'h' since the 'h' symbolizes the ة
Unless that's really the way it's spelt in Arabic? like this? >>نازية <<< that's how it would be spelt if your name was "Naziyah"

Otherwise if it's without the 'h' then it would be just نازيا

This explanation is incorrect too......... let me give you an example :
This is how many people write أنا in English
ana
anna
anaa

^^ at first glance, all of those would mean أنا in Arabic, which means "I"
However......if you look again, then you would see a problem in the second method of spelling, "anna"
Why? Because it has two 'n's ....and if you were to convert that into Arabic spelling, we know that in Arabic, the Shaddah is symbolic of two letters. So then "Anna" with the intent of saying أنا is incorrect, because according to the English spelling, it's no longer that, but rather it is now أن (with a shadda on the noon) which means, that/because/since

So yes.......the way you write out the Transliteration is very important so as not to confuse people
 
can someone tell me if its possible to write a non-arabic name in arabic letters or would youy have to translate the meaning?
