Insha-Allah,

A poll is a good idea for a thread such as this one. I'm pleased you have been working on cementing a partnership. I really hope they accept it.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do. From the 29th I'll be on my travels so won't have the chance to be online much for a whole month.

There are so many out there that fall in that theme and none of them are hugely popular. They all have a small audience. I know as people have ideas so do others have those same ideas. Unless you are planning to make it super unique and different than the others why even dive into that avenue when you know you have nothing new to offer?

As people feel quite fond of their ideas, please know that a website I know who caters to this theme exactly spent $100K on his website only to see a lifeless website. Insha Allah.

Thanks bro, I really appreciate your help and support so far. I will need your help later in posting your vids on the new site and getting your friend/subscribers to do the same insha Allah.

Jazak Allahu khayr wa ajrun ADHEEM! Ameen.

Jazaki Allah khayr for your post ukhti 3x times masha Allah :statisfie

I have thought about the things you've mentioned here. But if past experiences and failures have taught me anything, it's not to reveal too much way ahead of its time. Things always go KAPUT for me when I do. But qadr Allah.

Just a small correction inshaa'Allah. Footsteps are khutuwaat, not futuwaat.

As in this ayah:

O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. (2:186)

May Allah help all involved in this endeavour, and make it successful, ameen.

Sis, it's gonna be one BIG struggle to get this site noticed amongst the others that already exist. I also understand where sis Purple Cup is coming from, in her post. These other youtube-esque sites are not popular, and often fail due to the lack of awareness for them amongst the Muslim communities.

How do you propose to make this site get "noticed" and do you have experience in this department. If you do, can you give us an example of where a site you have put on the web, has enjoyed popularity?

Do you have links to those sites bro? I've never come across any which is why I thought it'd be a good idea to make one. But if they are as I plan the new site to be then it's better to support one that already exists.

I've only ever put my own site up (retail) and that made me appreciate how difficult it is to advertise. I haven't been committed as I should with SEO, so I can understand what you mean about popularity. It's definitely harder than I imagined.

here are a few i remember off the top of my head:

http://www.halaltube.com/

http://www.muslimvideo.com/tv

http://www.tv.muxlim.com

http://www.islamictube.net

http://www.guidedways.com/islamicvideos

none of these have really taken off and still remain looking like beta versions because of it

I still think it can work, but like I said - you'll need one BIG sponsor for it, preferably a Muslim owned company that can afford it the exposure on the internet so it can get the awareness it deserves.

Unfortunately, that still means you will have to get a beta version up and running before you can even attempt to approach the potential sponsor for your idea - and the beta version really needs to be on par with youtube at the very least, maybe with a unique selling point attached to it - that youtube doesn't cater to.

Hard work, indeed.

I had a look at the sites but they're different to what I have in mind and I find them difficult to navigate. My brother is doing his masters in film-making and it seemed appropriate to ask for his opinion on the idea. He likes it and thinks it can work but that it will require a lot of monitoring to keep it clean.

On the exposure side, there are various Islamic channels who I am certain will be more than happy to help advertise (maybe even sponsor) the website through their TV channels - one of which has successfully called ALL sects to forget their differences and gather for massive peaceful protest in London in defense of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) honour. Masha Allah. This makes me feel hopeful.

The site also could be a great way for muslims to advertises their businesses to muslim consumers. May Allah grant it success if it will be good for our deen dunya and akhirah.

P.S. I have decided to not register a new name for now.
