I am really praying that it wasn't a Muslim that did this. I hate to suspect but the car with the bomb in it was in front of Viacom, the owners of South Park.
Really, people, why would you wish death upon someone like that? And you know, This just gives us a bad image. The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wasallam would not want us to make a big deal out of this. We've inflated the problem. Our responsibility is only to let them know POLITELY, RESPECTFULLY, MATURELY that we do not depict the Prophet in any manner. Or any Prophet, for that matter.
And FYI, the cartoon wasn't intended for disrespect. I mean, the same people also depict the Pope, the President, and so on so forth.
How will we ever prove ourselves as tolerant Muslims if we continue going about like this? This whole issue is so minor, so stupid and we make such a big deal out of it. There's no disrespect intended to the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wasallam. I was also disappointed in hearing of the situation but it's nothing to create havoc over.
I told my mom about bombs being found in times square because she didnt know and she was like " did they catch some random muslim man about to leave the country beat him up and force him to confess" and she didnt even know someone was caught nevermind a muslim man about to leave the country. The whole thing seems staged and I dont know why Americans just believe it without questioning it.

What would the incentive be for the Americans staging this? However much I enjoy such television programmes like 24 and Prison Break, the events described in those programmes are largely fictional- it would be very hard for the US government to conduct this event and then cover up all evidence that implicated them.

Staged or predictable? Given recent history I'd have given it 50/50 odds to have been a muslim (or somebody claiming to be one). If it hadn't been a muslim the other contenders were Tea Partiers and Anarchists.
under-educated atheists will believe anything -- I have a rare priceless $3.00 bill to sell to all of them.. rocks sprout wings, a group of sperms traveled toward the earth and gave us life and a Muslim guy did it!

I do think the fact the suspect is Pakistani is just as, if not more relevant than his religion. Most terror plots in the West now come from Pakistani militant groups and Pakistani based training camps. Pakistan evidently has a huge array of militant groups- most started out with the intention of waging war against India and Kashmir which they believe is Pakistani, but now more are directing their anger towards the West.
Shahzad's life to see if the Pakistani-American man, who was charged on Tuesday afternoon connection with the Times Square car-bomb plot, was a lone wolf or part of a terrorism cell. Shahzad reportedly told U.S. law-enforcement officers that he acted alone, in statements allegedly implicating himself in the failed attack following his arrest at JFK International Airport on a Dubai-bound flight. It's still not known if Shahzad is a member of the Pakistani Taliban or any other militant group. Attorney General Eric Holder said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon, May 4, that the suspect was cooperating and providing valuable intelligence, although he declined to specify what the authorities had learned about the plot thus far, so as not to compromise the ongoing investigation.
Shahzad had reportedly returned to the U.S. in February after spending a number of months in Pakistan, where he traveled after becoming a naturalized American in April 2009. Pakistani officials say Shahzad is of Kashmiri descent and the son of a former top Pakistani air-force officer. On his latest Pakistani passport application, he had given his nationality as Kashmiri — a fact that some analysts suspect might tie him to those militant groups based in Pakistan that were originally formed to fight Indian control of the divided territory. An official in Islamabad said Pakistani authorities are investigating whether he had ties to any Kashmiri jihadist groups. During his latest spell in Pakistan, Shahzad was also said to have spent significant time in Peshawar, the capital of North-West Frontier Province, where the government has waged a fierce war against Taliban militants. A Pakistani government source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told TIME on Tuesday that the suspect had had ties with militants while in Pakistan. "He was here at a training camp," the source said. The legal complaint against Shahzad, which charged him with terrorism and attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, said he admitted to receiving bombmaking training in Waziristan, the lawless tribal region where the Pakistani Taliban operates with near impunity.
Pakistani officials claim that there have been a number of arrests in Karachi of people suspected by authorities of having a connection with the suspect. "There will be more arrests before the night is out," a senior government source told TIME. Other reports suggest that one man held in Pakistan allegedly spent time with Shahzad during his stay there and was said to have hired a pickup truck and driven with the suspect from Karachi to Peshawar, long a hotbed of militancy.

I seriously cannot comprehend how anybody can believe this. All it is is fearmongering and I dont buy it. If they choose to believe that the taliban in south asia was behind this than that is their prerogative. If a these governments can conduct illegal wars, destabilize countries with contempt to international law I dont see how it is beyond them to create threats in order to keep the support for their unpopular wars going, and yes I believe a pakistani with affiliations to the taliban planting a bomb in times square would benefit them greatly particularly with the situation in pakistan right now. but i'm giving to much credit to a group of people whose biggest problems are obesity and cartoons when their governments are conducting illegal wars, killing thousands of innocents and using their tax money to fund illegal occupation in their names while gradually limiting their freedoms with the threat of a nonexistent enemy while their citizens moan and complain about the "extremists" and "fanatics" their foreign policy creates.

While I dont put it past some muslim groups to plant bombs targeting civilians since many do in muslim countries like mine I believe in this circumstance it was staged.

lol that was actually funny.. New Yorkers are kind beneath the rough exterior and mean-- they have to warm up to you though.. the best thing about NY is that every corner is a different nationality.. I'd be very freaked out if I were walking the streets of Kansas at night lol .. I don't think there is a need for much editing there, had many friends complain about the mid west and deep south
