The illegal narcotics trade dominates Afghanistan's economy, accounting for 60 percent of its gross domestic product and 87 percent of the world's supply. Heroin and morphine are derived from opium, which comes from poppies. The invasion of Afghanistan by the allied forces and the subsequent occupation has not changed the economy of the country. Rather plunged into deep sin and poverty.

Dear god... what has happened.. i think the poopy plantation and export has double or tripled after the war...something i read awhile back.. so sad to look at our brothers and sister have to resort to something like this..
