PM suspected of receiving steep discount on house

The State Comptroller, Micha Lindenstrauss confirmed Thursday that he is looking into a real estate transaction by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, but said he hasn't yet summoned the prime minister for questioning.
Lindenstrauss's statement came in response to a report in the Haaretz daily that Olmert is to be questioned about the real estate deal in which he allegedly bought a Jerusalem apartment for about $500,000 below its market value. In exchange, Olmert associates allegedly helped the contractor obtain unusual permits from the Jerusalem municipality, Haaretz said in the report.
Olmert's office said the prime minister has not been approached by the comptroller.
The comptroller said in a statement that he has been looking into the matter for several months, collecting documents and statements from those involved.
"We haven't turned to the prime minister yet for a reaction," the comptroller said in a statement, adding that the report in Haaretz was "premature."
It's interesting, because quite frankly there is no country in the Middle East in which such a thing would IMHO be possible. Name me one Muslim country where any 'state comptroller' would be in a position to publicly accuse and possibly question and prosecute the leader of the country.
Maybe in Indonesia it would be possible? They seem to have a rule of law.

Do Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Libya have State Comptrollers?
People, for the love of relevance, please stick to the topic. This is about the news story of a Corrupt Israeli Prime Minister, not a corrupt Syrian, Jordanian or Iranian Prime Minister. If you wish to discuss corruption in the Middle East in general, please do so in another topic.
Furthermore, you need to provide a source, I R Paki.
