‘Umar bin Abu Salamah (RA) said: I was a boy under the protection of Allah’s Messenger Salallahu 'Alayhi Wassalam, and as my hand used to roam in the dish, he said to me: “Mention Allah’s name, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is nearest to you.”
A person should say the following before eating,
بسم الله وعلي بركة الله
Bismillaahi Wa ‘Alaa Barakatillaah
In the name of Allah, and with the blessings of Allah.
I have never heard of anything like such. Why would you be writing it?You just have to say it once before you start taking your meal,no need to write it down. And after the meal, just say Alhamdulillah.
