Do you think finding the right marriage partner online is possible? (OP)
AoA everyone,
I was searching on the Internet recently and surprisingly found a lot of stuff on Muslim matrimonial. Many sites have been made exclusively for Muslims where you can go, make a profile of your own and then receive a lot of emails and messages from potential partners. But is it really successful?
You may want to tell us your experiences if you have been a part of these sites. For those who want to know the secrets to successful online meeting and ending up being married to the right Muslim, there's a very useful ebook on this topic, The Right Muslim.

To be honest, I have absolutely no good idea of whether or not this is possible and/or acceptable or not.
Some commments on what has been said though
1. I'm not sure what you mean by love marriage and why you think it's forbidden.
2. I don't know what the difference between finding a partner on-line and of-line is in terms of "love". I mean, would you love someone you find on-line more than someone you find trough people who know some people?
I think the idea is to just know the person exists trough this site, and then proceeding as normal. By the way, if you're talking face to face the person can still give a lot of lies. In the end you never know
Who says you have to chat? What about mails, are those allowed? I would think people sent letters in the old days to find out wheter or not the person was eligable?
You know wot i aint gonn say anythin coz either ma posts get deleted or edited. so you lot say w/e u want .

Marriage by mail is a risky business. These schemes are typically designed as marriage, relationship, or friendship announcements but may have other shapes and forms, too. Encounters are generally made through e-mail, Internet chat rooms, matrimonial websites, etc.
I was watching the news this other day and there was the story of this guy who was looking for his "soulmate" online, he met this person who lived in Africa...they probably chatted for awhile, agreed to meet or something...so the guy flies over to Africa and gets kidnapped, puts his life in great danger and the people that kidnapped him were the ones he has been chatting with, basically he has been tricked.
The internet should be the last place a person goes to look for his 'other' half! There are heapz of other ways you can safely find a spouse, through your family, friends, local masjid...etc. And the best of all is to pray to Allah (SWT) and ask Him (SWT) to give you a righteous husband and to be patient!

besides that...
i think it is perfectly plausible to find a partner on the net...no i dnt have any experience whatsoever...but...
theoretically speaking...one may get to know another quite well over the internet...keeping to the vitality of meeting eachother in person and getting to know them as a physical being..im sure it can work out...
wen one is on the net looking for a spouse on these sites, everyone else has the same intentions..so its easy to be picky and find someone u actually are inetersted in...
but thats jst my view...

As for your question Salma, to be honest I wouldn't know because I haven't tried it out but, if it follows the rules of Islam, then it could work right?

You can yes, but equally you can find the wrong person online.
Fight in the way of God, against those who fight against you, drive them out of the places they have drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. Fight them, until persecution is no more, and Religion is for God. But if they stop, let there be no war.

well ive heard of a few marriages from the net, like in other cases theres a right way and wrong way.

If you stay within limits I think it's a good chance for all those single and a little over age people to find prospective partners. Good sites are also available.
