Gullible

I know that everyone will say that I'm a spoilsport and so forth....but a serious question has crept into my head.

In terms of joking in Islam, how far is it allowed to make a fool of someone? I mean there are lots of people here who genuinely and seriously don't get it, and who will still be trying. Did Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) ever do that in a joke?

By the way, I am not criticising, this is a genuine question. I have heard that he never lied, even in a joke, but I don't have the reference to prove this. What about making a fool of someone?

This idiotic frustrating thread must be violating some forum rule, so I can delete it.

We need to make a forum rule that anyone posting gullible jokes be banned for 6 years, 4 months, 3 weeks 4 days, 7 hours 22 minutes and 15 seconds.

Well, I was glad to read the first sentence, understanding that you did fall for the trap.

But the second sentence stopped me dead in my tracks. I believe this thread was created during the time of eHafiz. I really cannot be blamed for the horrible things he's done on this forum now, can I? :X

We are very far from angry at each other. Bro Rashad is a very dear Grandson to me. I apologize if you thought I was angry at him.

He is my Grandson in Islam, not by blood but I love him as much as I love my blood Grandchildren.

Just thought I'd let you know of the confusion I caused in my Oola, Thaniya AND Thalitha classes today! :D

I told them that gullible rhymed with orange if read reeeaaaalllyyyyy ssllllloooowwwwlllyyyyyy.
they were at it for ages ;D

Hee hee i felt a bit bad about it afterwards though.

Although I was sorely disappointed that not ONE of them got it! :-\
