Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters!
There are many people who are looking for stable employment in this economy. When I first reverted to Islam, a fellow muslimah told me that I must quit my jobs to study Quran, learn Arabic, and remove myself from the "duneyah" (sp).
Of course that made no sense to me because I have financial responsibilities that I must continue and I am not trying to be homeless, insh'Allah.
DO you all work in a particular field that may be Muslim friendly or that you would suggest to an out of work Muslim? Are you allowed to pray at work?
In my region, I rarely see hijabed ladies working. I would assume they don't wear hijab to work or work from home. I would like to see more though.
Medical, Early Childhood Education, General Education, and Customer Service (call center) seem to be ideal occupations.
WHat do you all think?
