Well, you could try phoning various labs and asking for work experience placements, or actually go there in person.

I went to a Hospital..but they have no vacancies..and I'm checking out the labs, but alas..nobody wants me..OH what am I to do? I feel so err...lazy (I'd put up a sticky out tongue thing at this moment, but I think thats wrong..)
So..What am I to do with myself for the summer?!

Checked the Jobcentre? Also, have you looked in the Yellow Pages for other labs? Maybe someone you know has connections, in which case, use those connections.
