OK if something doesn't concern you to leave it...(your just being nosy and stuff) hadeeth of the rpophet alayhi salaatu wassalaam: min 7usnil islaamil mar'ee tarkuhu maa la ya3neeh" hassan
from the islamic good of a person is to leave that which doesn't concern him,

To not get angry
narrated by abee hurayra radhiyaAllahu anhhu that a man came to the prophet alayhi salaatu wassalaam, and said give me counsel, he said "don't get angry" he repeated himself...collected by al bukhaari

To seek refuge from the shaytaan if youare angered
narrated by sulyman bun surad radhiyaAllahu anhu, he said 2 men were swearnig at eachother at the time of the prophet alayhi salaatu wassalaam, one of them became red in the face and his jugular veins were popping out, the prophet alayhi salaatu wassalaam said: verily i know of words if he says them, would have taken away what his finding (anger), they asked what o messenger of Allah he said: a3uudhu billahi min ashaytaani rajeem,
bukhari and muslim,

not to offend him/hers a3raadh-possesions
Hadeeth Ibnu 3umar or jaabir (i'm not sure) that the rpophet alayhi salaatu assam said " verily your blood is haraam, your wealth is haraam, your a3raaddh-posessions is haraam" agreed upon

Also if you're not sure in something to leave it

hassan the grandson of the prophet mayAllah be pleased with him said: i learnt fro the prophet alayhi salaatu wassalaam " da3 ma yurebuk ilaa ma laa yureebuk"
leave that which you have doubts in to that which you don't have doubts in,
(hassaan al isnaad)

Sunnah entering the house :
Hadith that said if you say bismillah when you enter the house then syaithon will tell their friends that they have no place to life and when you say bismillah when you eat then syaithon will tell their friends that they also have no meal in the house.
Walk in your right foot and say bismillah
May not look to the window if theres anybody inside the house if you visit someone.
If you say salam three timesand theres no reply, then just go home. My ustadh (he had mulazamah with sheikh Uthaymeen) ever told to just go home when he came to the sheikhs house :D Its just all right in arabian country, but in eastern country, its just unpolite :D . But of course as long as its not haram then its ok. and Its the owner of the houses right I think.

Ass salaamu alaykum,

Sunnah Upon Entering A House!!:

It is sunnah (if your visiting a house other than yours) to stand on either the right or left hand side of the entrance

Narrated Abdulllahi ibn Busr radiyallaahu 3anhu that if the Prophet salalaahu 3alayhi wasallaam were to come to/ approach a door 9entrance of someones house) he would stand either on the right or left hand side of ituntil he was granted permission to enter, If not the would leave...(Hadeeth Hasnun Saheeh).

It is also important to ask permision before entering

The hadeeth above cearly proves that..

& an athar narrated by 3ataa ibn rabaah he said I asked Ibn Abbaas radiyallaahu 3anhu Do i have to seek permission from my sister?
he said: yes! , I said:There are two of my sisters whom live with me I provide for them, Do I have to seek their permission? He said: Yes!! would you like it if you were to see them naked!!??..and then he recited qawluhuu ta3aalaa: Ya ayyuhal latheena aamanuu layasta'hinkum al-latheena malakat aymaanukum UNTIL .......Thalaathu 3awraatin
He said:And they were'nt commanded to seek permission ONLY in these three times (thaalaathu 3awraat) ...
He then recited: "Wa idhaa balaghal adfaalu minkum al-hulm..."
Ibnu Abbaas said: seeking permission is Obligatory!!
and ibnu Jurayj added: on every single one of man kind!!

AND.... hadeeth Kaldah Ibn Hanbal that he entered upon the Prophet with some food (laban, jidaayah, and dhaghaabees) I did not give salaams , nor did I ask for permission So He said: Go back & say : Assalaamu alaykum, May I enter??

It is also sunnah to knock with your adhaafeer/Fingernails

Narrated Abas ibnu Maalik: The doors of the Prophet salalaahu 3alayhi wasallam were kocked with the adhaafeer/fingernails!!

Also one must give Salaams:

Hadeeth Kaldah as mentioned above that he told him to go back and say : Assalaamu alaykum, May I enter!!??

and an athar by 3ataa , he said: I heard Abu huraira say: If he says (the person at the door) may i enter & does'nt give salaams say: No!!...until you come with the keys , Isaid: As-salaam, He said : Yeah!!....(Saheeh)

It is also Disliked to answer ...(when said : who is it!!??) IT 'S ME!!

Muhammed ibnul Munkadirsaid: I heard Jaabir ibnu Abdillah say: I went to the prophet in regards of some debt that was on my Father, I knocked on the door, He (the Prophet salalaaahu 3alayhi wasalaam) said: who is it? , I replied: Me/it's me! , He said: ME!!...........ME!????? ..I was under the impression that he disliked it!!

It is also important for one to have Dhikr Allah before entering the house..(eg: Basmalah..etc)

Jaabir ibnu Abdillah radiyallahu 3anhu sad , he heard the Prophet salalaaahu 3alayhi wasalaam sal:
If a man enters his house with the rememerance of Allah azza wa jall and does so when he's eating (his supper), the shaytaan says: there is no shelter for you tonight nor any supper. and if he enters and does not have his remembrance whilst eating..the sahytaan says: you have reached your over night shelter/stop ....& if he does not remember Allah with hisfood: the saytaan says you have obtained your shelter and your supper!!....(Bukhari and Muslim)

that's it inshaAllah....:)

ass salaamu alaykum,

Attitude Towards Elders

Every young man should show respect and kindness to those elder and more intelligent then them.

Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah saws said: if a young man shows honour to an old man on account of his age, Allah will create for him at his old age someone who will show him honour.
-Tirmidhi

We should also show respect and honour to the hafiz

Abu Musa reported that the Messenger of Allah saws said: Of the florifications of Allah, certainly it is the honour shown to an old Muslim, the bearer of the Quran (by heart) without treachery therein and keeping aloof from it; and the honour shown to a just king.
-Abu Dawud

Do not stand up for an elder if they dislike it

Anas reported: No man was more beloved to them (companions) then the Messenger of Allah. Whenever they saw him, they did not stand up on account of him disliking it.

^^ This disliking was on account fo the modesty of the Holy Prophet. This is an object-lesson to all our leaders The followers should however show honour by standing. This is not prohibited.

The Messenger of Allah did not dissapprove of touching feet and kissing hands of elders and the intelligent elders.

Ja'reer while he was in the deputation of Abdul Qais (tribe) reported: When we reached Medina and began to alight hastily from our saddle, we kissed the hand of the Messenger of Allah and his foot
-Abu Dawud

Next: What is the sunnah of restricting the tongue?

ass salaamu alaykum,

MashaAllah!! :thumbs_up

:sl:
Bro about standing to people, I ever learn this is harm to stand to honor someone ALTHOUGH if the elder like it :rollseyes . See..theres hadith that sahabah almost standing to welcome Rasulullah, and ten Rasulullah stopped them from doing so, and he said " you almost do something that Jews Did to welcome theor kings", corrct me if Im wrong. BUT if you stand to welcome (example:) the sheikh and guide him to his chair, or standing to show him the door if he wana go home from one majlis then its ok.
And also the hadith you used above thats doesnt mean if Rasulullah liked it then the companions may standing to welcome him right? Cause in another hadith Rasulullah warn sahabah to not welcome him in such way. Allahu A'lam. Plleeeeeease Correct me if Im wrong then insha Allah

Brother you are correct. That is what i meant when i stated:

Forgive me for not being clear inshaAllah :)

Assalamu'alaikum Brother, I was listening to a tape by Sheikh al-Albani rahimahullah and he said that it is allowed in certain cases like for example in certain cultures when someone comes in then we stand up to greet them etc.......and to make them feel welcome. I have to go back and check some more on this though insha'allah........ :) By the way, it's nice to see you active in the thread again alhamdulillah :)

Hmmm....I'm sorry I can't help about the sa7aabi, I'm bad at names :X

Also it comes to mind, the hadeeth in which Rasulullah gave the Eid khutbah to the ladies and then said " And Give Sadaqah, for verily you are from the majority of the inhabitants of hellfire" So he was asked why? and he said " Because you Complain frequently, and because you are Ungrateful towards your husbands, if you see one thing you do not like from him you say ' I have never seen good from you!"

I'm in a hurry right now so sorry I can't contribute more :( but next Question :

What is the Sunnah/etiquettes of Dressing?
