[How-To] Soften and silence mouse buttons

    Report bad ads?

    Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah

Many people have RSI issues or want their mouse to be more quiet, so i have written a detailed guide on how to do that on my blog.

It's easier than it looks, but for responsibility reasons i had to caution many times. Still you must get a cheap mouse first to practice it.

(Sorry had to undergo the Link permission rule because i have no idea what to post haha)

    I am open for questions

    Salaam.

I never thought my mouse was making enough noise for me to notice. Heh. But hopefully this will be beneficial to somebody else insyaAllah.

And He gives you of all that you ask Him; and if you count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely man is very unjust, very ungrateful.

Re: [How-To] Soften and silence mouse buttons

There are all kinds of mice out there and not all make much noise when used. Some have a 'soft touch' feature too. Trackball mice are also nice as it uses the thumb to move the track ball around, instead of having to move the mouse. It still has buttons however. Learning basic keyboard short cuts certainly can help ease the repetitive clicking, that and a scroll bar. You can scroll with arrow keys in most applications too, or the scroll wheel on a mouse.

Making sure your chair etc are at the right height to relieve stress to various body parts. Getting up out of the chair and walking around or placing your palms flat on the desk and and lean forward so your arm bends over your fingers, stretches the wrists etc, and is not a common movement for typists. Having a good ergonomic keyboard is also very useful. I find the ones that are slightly curved and have the keyboard keys on a slope works quite well compared to your typical flat keyboards. It leaves the wrists/forearm straight and aligned well the elbows fall at a more natural position beside the body. Flat keyboard tend to force your elbows into your sides. and the hand are more twisted. The keyboard I use is the Microsoft 'natural' ergonomic keyboard.

I thank you for your comment. I already explained as to why such a guide is still necessary despite of the mice with special features available. And i also clarified about some ergonomic aspaects applying to the working place. But you made many good points.
