Biography

Brother Adnan Oktar (Harun Yahya). He is a prominent Turkish Muslim author, best known for his struggle against Darwinism, his Atlas of Creation, and his preaching the creation of Almighty Allah. He openly states that in Islam, there is no place for violence or suicide bombings, opression or hatred. He explains in his book "“Islam Denounces Terrorism”" that Allah has forbidden terrorism and violence, and condemned those who commit such deeds. The terrorism, that is so preoccupying the world at present, is the work of ignorant and fanatical people, completely estranged from Qur'anic morality, and who have absolutely nothing to do with religion. Islam and Qur'anic morality are solutions to the source of terrorism, not supporters of it.

I am very interested in knowing more about him and his work since I am following some of his work through the internet, but I might not be able to be make it to the show time

Salamalikom sister.

When one tackles evolution, there are two approaches; An argument based on faith, using various ahadith, and an argument based on science. Adnan Oktar (Harun Yahya), unfortunately is famous for his shocking misuse of the latter. He is fully aware the intended readership are credulous to enervated arguments. It is acceptable for someone to say that they do not believe in evolution because it is against their faith. Everyone to his own beliefs. However to say they do not believe in evolution based on the pseudo scientific drivel churned out by these type of websites is damaging to Islam for two reasons.

1. It makes the non Muslim who has studied evolution think that Muslims have a holistic ignorance of the scientific method. A religion whose adherents seem to have the scientific know-how of the Huaorani tribes of the Amazon is not appealing to anybody!

2. It makes the Muslim who has studied evolution feel as though Islam is at the end of a losing battle with science.

Anyone who has even a diminutive understanding of evolution will know that the arguments Mr Oktar presents have been quite clearly annihilated by the scientific community. For example he has a piece quite comically titled "A Scientific Blow to Darwanism - Irreducible Complexity". However what he fails to mention is that irreducible complexity, the 'holy grail' for creationism was shot down in flames - not just anywhere, but in court! In the Dover trial the court held that "the claim for irreducible complexity has been refuted in peer-reviewed research papers and has been rejected by the scientific community at large." Irreducible complexity is just one topic that has been crumbled, fossil evidence, the eye and every other argument they presented was dealt with one painful coffin nail at a time.

His literature is aimed at the ignorant, and I do agree it has its uses. For the layman who finds all this talk about humans and chimpanzees rather puzzling, will settle quiet nicely with a children's book with a lot of colourful pictures, and scientific sounding terms. The only thing that tops the pictures are the titles! "The Collapse of Evolution Theory" - really?! I'm embarrassed to say I own the book.

Evolution does have weaknesses, undeniable ones, however combating it with pseudo science does no one any favours. It only leads to its proponents becoming laughing stocks to the scientific community.

If you genuinely want to talk to people about Evolution sister, then I recommend studying its basic concepts from science books, and you will realise its most grievous flaws without resorting to that type of "science".

I don't understand why anyone would listen to Harun Yahya. If I'm not mistaken, Billal Phillips himself considered Harun Yahya to be a kafir.

Please could you tell me on what basis? Because I don't know that much about Harun Yahya's aqeedah, though I am aware of Dr Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips strong aqeedah. Also I see Harun Yahya's books in many Islamic bookshops, though haven't yet read one myself.

And considering someone as a kafir is a major thing that must be backed up with solid evidence of kufr. It's not something to be taken lightly, so I'm assuming Dr Philips has some strong evidence?

Bilal Philips states that Harun Yahya promotes the idea that Allah is everywhere and not above the heavens and that this world is an illusion.
I have not read any of Harun Yahya's books so Allah knows best.

Raphael, I respect the fact that you have an entitlement to your views, I know you are a Non-Muslim, but I totally disagree with your unscientific analysis. Darwin had absolutely no scientific background at all, he didn't even go to university to study science and that is a established fact. Harun Yahya has been working with scientists internationally and has more of a sound basis to scientifc knowledge than Darwin himself.

Many evolutionists have stated themeselves that the evolution theory completely obsolete. Even Darwin admited before his death that he was wrong.

It's no point deluding yourself or our Muslim brothers and sisters here.

can you record the broadcast and put it up for downloading? i really want to hear his name get cleared, such as the rumours that he doesnt make his own documentary and his got a whole crew working for him, and his just a name?face/alias for an organisation etc etc and that most of his information is wrong or biased

The Quran says:
