Tupac is also a muscion, role model and 'hero' for many young people, not just black, but all over the world, he has sold many records and yada yada yada, you know who he is and so forth, so maybe people are not trying to follow 2pac because he got shot, I dont think even Tupac wanted to be shot, but they follow him because of the other features, we can go on and talk about many features which he spoke of and how they are positive.

People don't follow a person because of the bad, they follow him/her for the good.

I have to admit that 2pac did have his posative side, that was vry apparnt until he signed with Death Row Records. After DRR he just became an arrogant idiot.

I cant seem to comprehend that people have characterless and shameful people as "role models." It boggles my mind honestly. I never had one and never will, its too idiotic

I feel what is intended by the starter of this thread is a thought provoking suggestion to elevate the mindstates of a certain people. One thing i have learnt in Dawah activities is to find a common ground with the person you are dealing with.

I don't know what you mean by 'arrogant' as such, but I guess I can kinda see what you mean, though I admitly do not know the chronological order of his life. Am glad that we can agree at least that he has been a positive influence and will continue to be.

Sometimes what you percieve as shameful and characterless may be seen as a decent and upright, out spoken person by those who hold him or her as a role model.

As for the word gangster/gangsta, I think that it is changing alot, around here when something or someone is refered to as gangsta it is not neccesarily in the original sense.

I used to be a fan of 2pac over 10 years ago, i can even remember the newsflash on westwood when he was shot 10 years ago. Tracks like hit em up was over the top , just thinking about it now.Tupac was not the only one that was arrogant, for me to follow him, i was aswell. Im not proud of my past but i am happy with my path from where i used to be to where i came. If i wasnt where i used to be i wouldnt be here now. It was all part of my path. Thuglife is a Mugs Life !

So walking around wtih guns, cussin, getting into trouble, wearing big thuggish chains, walking like u got somethin in your pants is upright and decent? Uh ok lol. Thats what I was referring to when I said that...

Well theres the opposite side, I don't know if you are talking about Tupac, but heres some nice parts:

Now to me those words are real, it deals with the problem of self hate with the lines "the darker the flesh then the deeper the roots" deals with unity "I give a holler to my sisters on welfare Tupac cares, if don't nobody else care" and building this and recognition for our women "I think it's time to kill for our women Time to heal our women, be real to our women And if we don't we'll have a race of babies That will hate the ladies, that make the babies" and the list of positive things goes on and on. *Tupac during his life time actually wanted to make a 'street code' thing in which gangs would abide by, which included things such as not shooting innocents, not involving kids to do shootings at schools and so on.

Anyhow, I think theres a good role model in those things.

I wasnt referring to one guy, but typically thats how they are especially the ones ive seen....oh nevermind >.<

2pac had a posative caring side, that was less seen towards his death. 2pac was a good example of a good person who just went down the devils lane and got caught in his trap.
