im having doubts and my faith has gotten to an all time low and im considering leaving however in the off chance that i come back will i be forgiven for that?
not planning to join a different religion so far most likely is still islam just doubtful now is all

Wa alaikum assalam.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Thank you for being honest about something so personal. Having doubts and questions doesn’t make you a bad person, and you don’t have to solve everything today.

I’m glad you’re planning to speak with a sheikh—please try to find someone patient and understanding, who will listen rather than judge or pressure you. If you’re comfortable, you can also tell us what questions or experiences have led you to feel this way.

As for whether you could be forgiven if you left and later returned: Allah’s mercy is greater than our mistakes, and returning sincerely is always something to hope for.

None of us should claim to know the final judgment of a particular person, but you should not assume that your door to Allah is closed.

Take things one step at a time, and don’t make a permanent decision while you’re distressed.

As-Salaamu Alaykum! 🕊️

Hello brother!
I came across something very encouraging today, which may certainly answer your questions:

Surah 48: 1 - 5
Verily We have granted thee a
manifest Victory:

That Allah may forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to follow;
fulfil His favour to thee; and guide
thee on the Straight Way;

And that Allah may help thee with powerful help.

He is the One who sent down peace
and reassurance into the believers’
hearts so they could grow stronger in faith.

He will admit believing men and
women into gardens beneath which
rivers flow, to dwell there forever, and forgive their sins; that is a great
triumph.

Notice it says faults of the future to follow! Allhamdulillah!!!

Take care!

thank you
about the doubts they are too long to explain here and too personal i can give a brief one though it may still be hard to understand it from just this

i somehow started having doubts because it doesnt feel like everyone is truly loved, some can be born less privalaged, with disabilities etc. and if allah loves everyone and is all powerful why subhect us to this inequality when its possible to make everyone happy if allah is all powerful. not even surviving through the struggle when this is a finite life for an infinite reward same applies to how someone can live a bad finite life for an infinite punishment
to expand further, even the ones born privalaged and who live a bad life are affected negatively from this their sins from a finite time of existence are punished with infinity.
and sometimes they cant even be blamed because its basically gauranteed how your personality, and even the way you think is too gauranteed from the very moment of conception, your personality when youre growing is determined by the influences around you like parents and siblings, then when you make friends with that personality taken from them they too affect you, and if you didnt take their personality then you would have never made those friends because you wouldnt be the same person

im sorry for any mistakes or diffuculty understanding. some parts are due to my inability to explain clearly others because i intentionally left out details i dont want to share
any help would be appreciated because idk when ill go to ask the sheikh about these worries
thank you

im not sure if i can edit the recent message i sent but even now after sending that i feel bad my heart aches for saying that but my questions remain unanswered alhamdulillah maybe theres still some faith left

but still i hope these questions arent shirk if i am wrong and i can be forgiven for asking such things. it even left me questioning why i was could be led down the path of asking them if they are counted as shirk when im asking for help

this could also be because i wasnt educated about islam enough but it has already happened and i cant change it now

Brother Chub,

I have also asked some of these questions in my own life. I wondered why I was born poor, why difficult things happened to me, and why my own children sometimes resented me. They too did not grow up with the advantages that some people have. I do not pretend to have a complete answer, and I would not want to minimize the pain involved.

What has helped me is understanding that hardship does not necessarily mean that Allah does not love someone or that He has abandoned them. I believe Allah remains completely in control, but He has also given human beings real freedom and responsibility. That freedom can produce kindness, sacrifice, injustice, neglect, and suffering.

If Allah prevented every harmful choice and removed every painful consequence, the world would no longer be a place of meaningful moral choice.

This does not explain every tragedy, and it does not make every hardship easy. It also does not mean that people are equally responsible when their circumstances, abilities, upbringing, or opportunities are very different.

Allah knows all of those differences perfectly, and His judgment will take them into account. We cannot always see the wisdom behind what happens, but we can trust that no one will ultimately be treated unjustly.

So I do not think your questions mean that you are against Allah. A person can be hurt, confused, and searching for an explanation while still believing in Him.

Please do not condemn yourself merely for having difficult questions. Take them privately to a compassionate and knowledgeable sheikh, and ask him to address them patiently rather than simply telling you not to think about them.

May Allah ease your heart, guide you to answers, and reward you for seeking the truth sincerely. Please don’t face these worries alone.

A private conversation with a wise and compassionate sheikh may help more than trying to resolve everything in a forum thread.

As Salaamu Alaykum!
