some of you will most probably know that i'm travelling to the uk and in mid-way meet my grandpa and we'll travel together to our final destination. i.e swansea.

so that means i'm travelling alone from islamabad (in pakistan) to southampton, with a layover at paris. all on my own...and thats sounds scary...

i know there are people under my age who travel solo but trust me this is my second international flight ever! infact my second time travelling by air! and more than ( or almost) one third of it is solo!

do you have any good advice? any good dua i should recite? any travel guidelines? do i have to follow some special rules( i mean not the ones my family has to, for me)? and i'm a bit scared and nervous so any thing to overcome that?
and wait.. do i count as those minors...i mean it says minors travelling solo are in ages ranging from 7-14 and for some airlines 15. but the airlines i'm travelling in says 14...and i'm 14 so do i count as a minor or are minors above 14 not 14..or like under it??
how do i keep record of my timings for prayers? i know that sounds stupid but as i said, i haven't travelled much ...last time it was a direct flight from swansea to london( and i didn't have to pray while flying) and then straight away peshawer( and they told us the prayer timings at that time) but this time its quite confusing...can someone explain?

and yes, pray for me!

and i have only one day left, after which..maybe i'm not here anymore for awhile or maybe forever...maybe i die...so anyone wants to talk? here:http://www.islamicboard.com/groups/talk-to-me-.html

Tell the flight attendant that you are travelling alone. Then she/he will guard you. Then after you land on UK, phone your family to pick you up in airport. Don't leave airport before they come.

Also you are excused in terms of prayer. You can pray Asr and Dhur together and just pray the current prayer that is where you are at the moment. Don't stress out.

You can perform salah while sitting in plane.

Here a video about salah on vehicle. It's in Indonesian language, but you can notice how the salah performed.

Don't forget to read when you plane/vehicle start moving

''Subhanallazi sakhkhara lana haaza wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen wa inna ila rabbina lamun qaliboon''

when you are traveling, you can just pray 2 rakats instead of 4

also how can you be traveling

you need money to travel by yourself at such a young age

obviously u need money to travel...doesn't matter what age.

mama's paying for it! obviously since she forcefully brought me to pakistan now she's going to pay to get me out too:D

seems like you have a strange relationship with your mom

I think she might still really love you deep down but doesn't show it

parents can say the strangest of things if they don't follow the sunnah mannerism

don't think too much of it

Assalamu alaykum

Sis, travelling alone is not so frightening really. Make lots of duas and supplications, and definitely tell the flight attendant that you are traveling alone, take a good book with you to read to keep yourself occupied (could always revise for exams, I suppose). And when travelling then yes the dhuhr and asr prayers can be combined inshaAllah.

Keep in mind the general rules of safety, avoid speaking too much to strangers you do not know, keep yourself to yourself, watch over any belongings you have with you carefully and do not leave the airport until a family member comes to collect you.

Have a safe journey, may Allah SWT protect you. Ameen.

maybe get a bokken lol for self protection

a taser and spray

Hey, I would be scared to make that flight alone, too. And I'm an adult and not facing an illness. I will pray for you. And remember, there are no friends and family traveling with you, but you are NOT truly alone, Allah goes with you and will guide you. God bless you, sweetie. I pray for you as if you were my own daughter.

16 hours left..................maybe these are some of my last posts here..........:phew
