Aloo bhaji - fried potatoes
Bhorta - usually mashed vegetables with onions and chilli in it
Rooti is chapatti.

Oh ok, JazakAllah khayr.

Hmm, what else do I want to know.

How would you address an elder? Because in Urdu, there are two words, aap or tum. App is the most respectful way of saying you....like 'How are u'....would be, Keysi hain aap, or summin...

In the Sylheti dialect, we use afne to address and elder and tumi for someone similar to your age and younger..
Liyu di liyan- I thought Shondesh and handesh were 2 different things..

Kool, so..tumi bala aso ni...how would u say that to an elder?

Asoyn I guess is just a dialect difference..but the meanings the same :D

In order from Mon to Sun
Shombar
Mongolbar
Budhbar
Bishutbar (Brihoshpotibar in pure dialect)
Shukurbar
Shonibar
Robibar
As you can see day means Bar :D

Also,
Yesterday = Gotokal (Shuddho) Gotokhail (Sylheti)
Today = aske (Sylheti)
Tomorrow = Agami khail (Sylheti) (Replace khail with kal for Shuddho)

This language rocks masha'Allah!

Can I have the names of some fruits please? :D

Banana = Khola

Apple = Ayfol (though I'm sure there's a proper name for it, and not just an adaptation of the english word)

Pineapple = Anarosh

Watermelon = Tormuz

Guava = Shofri

Grapes = Angur

Jackfruit = Khatol

Angur is same....Masha'Allah.

And Apple is Sayb? Is it that?

Any other foods?

Ok one question, say I met a family member of yours who only spoke Bangla, what would I need to know? (ques for everybody btw)
