Time Travelers Wife has some ":ooh::-[ turn the page quickly" bits as well, just as an advance warning to anyone who wants to read it.

lol thanks for the warning :)

I haven't read "choke" due to the whole storyline lol

Oh!
Just remembered 2 more books I love.
"We need to talk about Kevin" and "The memory keeper's daughter".
Read them both, in that order, and you will love them even more.

I tried reading the memory keepers daughter but couldn't really get into it. What was it like?

I really liked it..If I remember correctly, the beginning wasn't too great, but it gets better, in my opinion.
I think a reason I liked it so much was because I read it right after "we need to talk about kevin". Those 2 books have so many similarities, but so many differences, and it was interesting comparing them.

:sl:

One of my all time favourite's is my sister's keeper, by Jodi Picoult. I also enjoyed the lincoln rhyme series by Jeffrey Deaver.

^^"my sister's keeper", I've got that.. Haven't read it yet though, have 2 other ones to finish before I do. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I just bought Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. CAn't wait to read it InshAllah

I've read quite a few books by Jodi Picoult but I haven't found any of the others as good as my sister's keeper. I also love reading psychological thrillers, any book with a weird serial killer can keep me hooked

ooo really? They'd have me looking over my shoulder every 2 seconds lol.

Lol, it's not that bad, just as long as you're not reading late at night, when everyone's sleeping and its quiet and spooky out, coz dan you might have a nightmare or two. ;)

I like historical fiction as well actually

I don't like history at all!(except islamic history) It was one of my worst subjects at school.

I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter, i know alot of people can't stand it, but i find the writing style pretty good.

lol that's true.

oo I love history! lol

And ditto to harry potter! The writing is incredible

Heard alot about the twilight series, so wanna read those as well.

Oh and still need to read lord of the rings, got alot of recommendations for it.

I love "The Secret Life of Bees".
I watched the movie a couple of days ago.
I didn't get my hopes up, because movies are usually so much worse than books, but I was very pleasantly surprised! It was exactly how I pictured it would be, loved it.

"Set in South Carolina in 1964, The Secret Life of Bees tells the story of Lily Owens, whose life is shaped by her blurred memory of the afternoon of her mother's accidental death. When Lily's black "stand-in mother," Rosaleen, insults three racists in town, they escape to Tiburon, South Carolina. Lily is lonely at home and feels that she is unloved by her father, T. Ray. However, with the help of August Boatwright, she is able to find that she has many people that love and care for her."

That's from wiki, summary doesn't do it much justice though..:)

The movie description is nicer
"Set in South Carolina in 1964, this is the tale of Lily Owens, a 14 year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother . To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father, Lily flees with Rosaleen , her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother's past. Taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters - August, May, and June -, Lily finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping."

I have such a close relationship with my mum that I don't like books where the mother dies. . .:-[

Aww that's so sweet mashallah.. Well if it helps any, the mother is already dead when the book starts off..:p

One to add to my list. Just finished reading Velocity by Dean Koontz and I seriously couldn't put the book down. It was well written too and seriously thought provoking. Annoying thing is I'd already figured out who the killer freak was, not by name though, if you get what I mean. I just wondered if anyone else had read the book and what your thoughts were.
It was well worth the read though!
Crayon, have you read my sister's keeper yet? What's it all about? I'm wondering how long I can make this procrastination go on for.
