Abu Musabbih Al-Maqraaiy relates:

“On one occasion we were seated by Hadhrat Abu Zuhayr An-Numayri (رضي الله عنه), who was from amongst the Sahaabah (رضي الله عنهم). He was most eloquent in speech. When anyone amongst us used to engage in duaa, he would say, ‘seal the duaa with Aameen, for Aameen is like a stamp on the paper.’ He then said further, ‘should I not inform you regarding this?

One night we came out with Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) and came across a person who was fervently engaged in duaa.

Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) stopped to listen to him and said: “If he seals his duaa, he will make Jannah binding for him.”

One of the people asked, “How should he seal it (his duaa)?”

Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) replied, “He should seal it with Ameen, if he seals it with Aameen, he has made Jannah binding for him.”

The one who had asked Rasulullah (صلي الله عليه و سلم) went up to the person and said,

“O so and so, seal your duaa with Aameen and accept the glad tidings (of صلي الله عليه و سلم ).” (أبو داود)

Rasulullah صلي الله عليه و سلم replied,

Friday يوم الجمعة

It has been reported by Nu’man bin Bashir (رضي الله عنه) that

Nabi (صلي الله عليه و سلم) said:

“There are people who do not transgress the limits (laws) of Allah Ta’ala, and there are others who do so.

They are like two groups who boarded a ship; one of them settled on the upper deck, and the other on the lower deck of the ship.

When the people of the lower deck needed water, they said, “Why should we cause trouble to the people of the upper deck when we can have plenty of water by making a hole in our deck”.

Now, if the people of the upper deck do not prevent this group from such foolishness, all of them will perish; but if they stop them, they will be saved”.
