:zip: Sub-haan-Allah; doesn't look that hard; get on with it, theres loads of ahadith much longer  . . .

Allah is the arabic word for God. The one and only God, who there is no other like. Allah!

AllahuAkbar! God is Great!

:sl:
as far as i know ilaha is the arabic word for god,
and AL ILAHA makes the word ALLAH and its very unique in defining the one and only god -"THE GOD". Any1 knows something more about it ......?

:sl:

I think you mean LA ILAHA. This word comes from the word "ilaah" which is any object, idol etc. that is worshipped. when we say la ilaha it means there is no deity worthy of worship. The word Illallah translates into except Allah. La Ilaha is a negation going against all other deity while illallah is an affirmation that Allah is the one and only God.

I can understand Arabic, but can't really speak it. It's rather annoying, when someone comes to speak to me in Arabic I understand everything they say, but don't know how to say what I want. Does anyone else have that problem??????
