Turkey breast and chicken breast do miracles. Sobhanalh also Turkey is a bird and Allah give the children of Israel a kind of bird to eat but they left it for the worse.

  • Eat vegetables to help you feel full.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Get tempting foods out of your home.
  • Stay busy -- you don't want to eat just because you're bored.
  • Eat only from a plate, while seated at a table. No grazing in front of the 'fridge.
  • Don't skip meals.

Few months ago I felt I was too fat and need to reduce my weight. But I didn't do hard diet. Just rearrange the foods I would eat, such as reduce fat and carbohydrat, ate more vegetables and fruits.

Not bad, I lost 10 kilograms in three months.

Salam alaykum

I think there are many effective ways of losing weight. The hard part is not so much to shed weight as it is to keep it off once you have lost it, because your body is designed to gain back any lost weight.

This is something more and more people are realising little by little alhamdulillah. Restrained eating is not the best answer to this huge challenge. In my opinion, listening to your body and to the hunger signals it sends you is the best method. It is the natural one and the only one (in my opinion) that can be followed for a lifetime.

I wish losing weight was an instant process. You have to wait a very long time before you see the results and it's hard to keep going to the gym and cutting down on the food you love for something you don't see instantly or straight away. Perseverance, patience, will-power - and a strong mind is what we need! :exhausted

meat - it will make you feel satiated faster
yogurt - it is also a good way to feel satiated. take it instead of bread. (A little meat, a little cooked vegetables, a little yogurt, eaten with a spoon - without bread)
cooked vegetables - very good when eaten without bread. I don't like them so much without meat and / or yogurt.
fruit & fruit juice (sugar free) - they lower appetite. Many times when I have fruit on a regular basis, i've seen that I don't get hungry as much
bread & other carbohydrates - should be eaten sparingly - these not only make you gain weight but also increase the apetite.

It is true but if you lose just 1/2 a pound a week, you'll lose 26 pounds in a year.
To lose half a pound per week, you need to reduce (or burn off) 1750 calories per week or 250 calories per day. You can burn off that much by walking for about 45 minutes. That not only helps you burn off the calories but also helps you build muscle. If you have more muscle and less fat, you look thinner.

Sister Dreamin, that's true. I've come up with a brilliant idea of parking 30mins away from my workplace so that forces me to walk, go to gym 3 times a week, once a month swimming (or more depending on availability of time etc). I think walking everyday is something that will help me in sha Allah. I feel much better already :-) Alhamdulilah.

I've lost 2 pounds :-) and feel so much better for it. Will keep you updated with my weight loss :-)

Ramadan is not the time to go on a diet but it is a good time to try to change your life style and start eating healthy.

Losing weight needs motivation and self-descipline. Staying motivated is the hard part but can be done when you have support from others. We can keep each other motivated here.

im anorexic, and its horrible.
only now am i recovering.

My advice however is to make a lifestyle change and not to overdo it

I have ended up in the hospital thrice and still see a team of professionals helping me with my illness.

Just make a lifestyle change and dont over do it

gaining weight is simple.
each calorie dense food

including-
Sweet Baked goods
Including breads
Add oil to everything

VOILA!!

I suggest however you undertake exercise to build muscle, otherwise your weight gain can be fat

I agree with the exercise. If you dont practice, your body will not accept extra calories and proteins since it is used to its current status.

15 kg down and feeling great, I am still a little way from my goal weight : ) One thing that helps not only your weight but also overall wellbeing and energy is walking in nature. A daily walk is a superb way to refresh yourself.
