Not addicted as I used to be. I wouldn't miss the internet if I weren't to come on for a few days. I'd only miss the Haram salaah. Oh, and I'll miss deadlines on my online class.

Seriously, life without the internet is awesome, it's reallly nice to take the forced break every now and then...
I wonder if it is healthy for a person to spend that much time on the PC?
The computer is the alternative to the TV. TV is
so yesterday, and computer replaced it. Go figure if it's good for us.
How much internet per day is too much?
Depends on the person and what their job / education is. If they're computer science peeps, it makes sense of for them to be on all day. Otherwise...that's bad.
Do some people hide from life by building up an artificial cyber-life on the PC?
I think that most people do, and that's natural. For starters, most of the members here are outgoing, and it's only easy to be that outgoing with strangers behind a screen. But going too far and creating a whole new identity that is completely different from reality is harmful more to yourself, cuz you're escaping the problems in your real life and not finding a solution. If people are on LI to escape, fine, I understand that. We all need to escapes life's harshness at times. But we cannot live in an escape, because then it ain't an escape anymore. At some point the escape will also become harsh, and then you escape again to...?
But I also think quite a few members are multi tasking, and are working on their homework and projects while they're on LI, so it seems like they're on forever, but that's only cause their work is taking forever. I know, that doesn't
sound like a brilliant idea, but the distraction
is helpful to avoid a headache or getting overwhelmed by the work.
