duno y i don't feel its right to recite quran just because you want something...
Assalamu-alaikum Ukthi,
Allah (subhanawataá'la) loves for us to turn to Him whenever we are in need.
If we do not turn to our Rabb and Creator, who else is there to turn to?
“Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him…” (Qur’an, 27:62)
"And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided." (2:186)
Allah Taa'la dearly loves His servants turning in supplication towards Him.
No matter how many times......from the smallest request to the biggest (as long as it is for something that is permissible).
He never tires of hearing the duaas of each and every one of us.
In fact, those who do not turn to Him in need, is a means of His displeasure:
"And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible." (40:60)
Remember, how often we read the following in each rakaat of every salaah:
Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. (1:4)
There is no one else to turn to, if not to the one who is Al-Mujeeb - the Responder, the one who answers the pleas of His servants.
My sister, whatever is in your taqdeer, will come to you.
Allah (subhanawatáalas) plan is truly the Best for us, so tell your family there is no need to despair : )
Just be patient - the best rewards are to those who patiently persevere, never lose hope and, turn to Him in supplication. : )
Salaam
