If this competition held in my country most of the states will score almost equal points or event.Typicall Malaysian breakfast is Nasi Lemak= 'rice in fat',Roti Canai=Chennai bread,both containing compious amount of fat and in you will yawn frequantly after eating it.

Here the food preferences vary widely from state to state although there are some regional specialties. The new england area is well known for fish chowders, beef pot roasts and beans.

The south is known for Grits, Corn bread, fried chicken and Chit'lins (You do not want to know, but they are haram to us)

Texas is known for Beef BBQ, and Tex-Mex cooking. Tex-Mex is based on the theory that Peppers can be added to anything.

California has it's own distinct recipes and even differs from one part of the state to another.

The extreme Northwest Washington, Oregon and Alaska are best known for salmon, apples and wild game such as Elk or moose.

Other ares also have specialties:

Wisconsin=Cheese
Montana=Buck wheat pancakes
Michigan=Wild Rice

Louisiana=anything that can't out run a Cajun.

Forgot Hawaii: That is almost identical to Malaysian

^Talk about diversity!

Dahir, so, whats the secret that keeps the whole state healthy?:?

Assala Aleikum

What could be a heavy breakfast for one could be a light breakfast for another depending on how you were brought up and how you developed eating habits

Eating a Heavy Breakfast and working too hard the entire day to eat lunch or dinner -- I think...

Maybe its our liberal attitude towards dieting and our emphasis on an outdoor lifestyle.

From what I have seen with just limited travel to Minnesota is that the people in Minnesota are very much into rigorous out door activities and do burn up a lot more calories then those of us who live in the warmer areas. Our Texas winters are not much cooler than the Minnesota summers. That is a true statement.

The people in Far Northern climates do need to have a higher caloric intake than us in the semi-tropics. The Texas climate is similar to that of North Africa and the Minnesota climate is more like Norway or Finland. Minnesota is about as far north of Texas as Norway is north of Morocco.

Fact. The emphasis on the outdoors lifestyle you just mentioned is what makes Minnesota and Midwestern states healthier than Northeast coastal states like Pennsylvania and New York - states that are nearly as cold! They emphasize the indoors/hi-tech lifestyle. We vigorously endorse an outdoors lifestyle and our love of skiing, hiking, camping, conventional sporting, and nearly every other outdoors exercise, makes us ideal people for absolute natural survival and gives us a healthy framework to live on.

Not to mention, while the New Yorkers and Texans were out shooting guns and trading whiskey, we, alongside other rust-belt and midwestern states, were building the mining and industrial foundations of America!

:giggling:

I Read The Title And Was Like :uuh: IS THERE SUCH A THING??

Several US magazines run annual articles with themes like:

Healthiest State
Safest State
Prettiest State
Wealthiest State
Most Educated State
Expensive State
Lowest Cost of Living State
etc

You can also replace the word state with City, Region, County, College, Industry etc.

Since most Americans are very mobile and move often, the articles do come in handy in selecting things like Employment, housing, Education etc.

Minnesota is the Healthiest the climate is good for health, no overcrowding, very low crime rate, Very little air pollution, plenty of out door activities, and many other factors.

There is no ideal state for all people. There are many factors to consider when choosing a state to live in. A retired person with an income does not have to worry about employment opportunities and can enjoy the luxury of living in the less industrialized states such as Florida, Arizona, Hawaii, New Mexico.

Now I know why Miami is nicknamed 'Heaven's Waiting Room'!! ;D

For the people who are not familiar with US geography. Minnesota is one of the smaller and poorer counties in northern Texas. Four years ago the residents of Austin sent them a small package of health items and now they think they are healthy.

For the people who really are not familiar with the US, the above is a joke. Minnesota really did earn that title and it is the healthiest State in the USA
That sort of made me laugh a bit.

I don't want to be rude here but your from malaysia so you wouldn't know. This is an islamic forum nobody really cares which american state is the healthiest. Being healthy is a great thing, start a thread about living and eating healthy for muslims and i'm for something like that which can benefit muslims. Healthiest american state give me a break, we got better things to do.

4 years in the running - being the healthiest state in USA, they should be proud...

I'm proud of my state (Penang ISland - the most liberal state in Malaysia) , so does syilla (Kelantan - the most ISlamic state in Malaysia)... we have differences... but we just accept it... and have fun with it..

That's why your state isn't up there with us! :D

I eat a quarter-glass of milk and muffin for breakfast, chinese noodles/low-fat potato chips for lunch, and lightly buttered peta bread for dinner.

:playing:

Oh, I see Minnesota as the healthiest state for many years...:)

sounds like a poor mans meal plan to me;D ;D :happy:

just kidding

Who cares if Minnesota is the healthiest state, minnesota is full of racist people with barely any muslim population. Sucks to be from there.

Umm, yeah. I like living in Minnesota. We have quite a few mosques in the twin cities area, and a growing number of halal restaurants. We also have excellent public radio. And, we have the only Muslim congressman in the country!

Go Minnesota, go minnesota, go go minnesota!

just so everyone knows, i at cheerios for breakfast 3/4 cup w/ skim milk, i will eat a 12 oz portion of smoked salmon for lunch, probably with a salad and a beer, and then for dinner i am grilling some chicken smothered in barbeque with mushrooms, broccoli and perhaps a potato, i will probably drink some vodka while grilling and then i will proceed with loving my wife later in the night to get rid of some of the calories.

NORTH CAROLINA WILL BE THE HEALTHIEST STATE

MINNESOTA IS GOIN' DOWN
LOL;D
