Work to end suffering, Makkah imam exhorts Muslims
Arab News

FULL OF FAITH: Nearly three million Muslims attended the Eid Al-Fitr congregation in the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Sunday. The picture shows worshippers performing the prayer on the roof of the huge mosque complex. (AN photo by Ahmad Hashad)

MAKKAH: Nearly three million Muslims, including a large number of foreign pilgrims, attended Eid Al-Fitr prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif, Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and other senior princes and ministers joined the prayers.
Sheikh Saleh Bin-Humaid, the imam and khateeb of the Grand Mosque, led the prayers. In his Eid sermon, the imam urged Muslims to spread love and affection among them and improve their relations with others.
He highlighted the importance of volunteerism, saying it would help lessen the suffering of other people and that it purifies minds, prevents people from becoming stingy, gets rid of disappointment.
Such volunteer work should not be limited to the times of natural calamities, the imam said.
He said spreading happiness among members of society was essential to strengthening social bonds. Such cohesiveness, he said, is essential to safeguard internal security, prevent crimes and reduce poverty and corruption.
We should compete with one another in charitable and voluntary work, he added. It promotes popular partnership. Being a strong means of reforms, it also strengthens states and governments and bridges the gap in extending services.
At the Prophets Mosque in Madinah nearly two million faithful attended Eid prayers, which were led by Sheikh Salah Al-Bedair. In his Eid sermon, Al-Bedair called upon Muslims to abide by the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah in all walks of their life.
He reminded the faithful that promoting virtue and preventing vice is one of the fundamentals of Shariah.
He advised Muslims to perform the compulsory five daily prayers, give the obligatory alms of Zakat and perform the once-in-a-life-time duty of Haj. They should also avoid interest-bearing finances and the usury trap, pay the salaries of workers and not ask of workers what they cannot do.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah received at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah on Sunday morning a large number of princes, Islamic scholars and top officials who came to greet him on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. The king, accompanied by senior princes, later arrived in Jeddah.

Eid Mubarak n taqabal Allah Mina Wa Minkum , everyone in this thread n all the active members , n the Islamicboard moderators. May Allah acceot ramadan from you n may HE reward u all abduntly n protect u.

AlhumdolILLAH , Allah blessed me this ramadan with a great gift , i thank Him n praise Him, He Blessed me with Umrah n last ten days of ramadan in Masjid Al haram.

I got there on the 21st night n stayed theer till eid , Prayed eid n then headed to madinah where i stayed a couple of days n then drove back to dubai.I was accompanied with two brothers , one local from emirates n a palestanian brother from sharjah, whom are both students of knowledge n great brothers so the trip was just amazing AlhumdolILAH.

As i was walking towards Haram Sheilh Mahir was reciting Surah Al Ahzaab in the most melidious voice ever. I could not cath up with him as he was in his last few rakats. N as i was almost getting done with Umrah , i was like in my last few rounds of Safa n Marwa Sa'ee , Sheikh Shuraim Started off the Qiyam al layl and started reciting the beginning of Surah Al baqarah in his most amazing n melodious voice ever... i cannot explain the feeling, n all praise n thanks are to Allah.

Sheikh Shuraim lead beautiful tahajud prayers , there is notthing in this world like listening to sheikh shuraim's melodious voice , in the most beautiful nights of the year , n in the last third of the night .. words cant explain it , just imagine shuraim's voice echoing in the mountains of makkah as he recites amazingly in the haram, its amazing to be on the roof or in the tawaf area. May Allah protect Sheikh Shuraim n reward him for these beautiful nights n his beautiful n heart touching recitation of the book of Allah n words of Allah.

Sheikh Sudais was great n his duaas were beautiful , may Allah reward him.

Sheikh Juhnay was also very nice , his surah al zumar was just amazing ....

Sheikh Mahir did an amazing job with taraweeh n also with the last night Tahajud n duaa, it was very nice , Sheikh mahir was awsome each night , his voice is soooo beatiful n he recites the quran soo beautifully ... AlhumdolILLAH.

Sheikh Faisal Al ghazawi was amazing with his maghrib salah, he chose his verses very well . i absoluletly loved his salahs

Sheikh salih aal talib did beautiful ishaa salats n his khutbah was very nice on the last friday.

Sheikh ghamdi was amazing . May Allah reward him , he had a couple of realllly nice fajr salahs... may Alllah protect him... his tajweed is extraordinary.

AlhumdolILLAH , it was all beautiful

The best part of this trip was that i got to see some of the biggest scholars of our time n meet some of them in person.

I got to do iftar at the house of one of the most prominent scholars of our time, Sheikh Rabee bin hadi al madkhali , n also attend his talk before iftar n got to meet him in person.May Allah protect him n watch over him n reward him for all his efforts overs the years for protecting the sunnah n learning n teaching, the sheikh is really old now , his eldest son is 63!! but he still has lessons n duroos and is still active. It was a amazing opportunity.By far one of the best things to happen to me in this trip, got to see him in person n meet him.

Sheikh Salih bin muhammad al Luhaidan had lectures in haram followed by question n answer sessions which were really beneficial.

Sheikh ajlaan as well had lectures in haram n sheikh abdul aziz al rajhi.

In madinah we were invited at Sheikh Salih al Suhaimi's house , the sheikh again is one of the big ulama n scholars n he was so humble n so nice , he actuallly greetd us at his door , so humble. May Allah protect him, we had a reaaly nice meeting with him.

Also we got to pray at the masjid of sheikh abdul mohsin al abbad, unfortunatey we coould not meet him , the shikeh is in his ninties and still has a number of classes daily n is very active in teaching, his son sheikh abdul razzaq al abbad al badr is a teacher at madinah university.

Also got to visit the Madinah Islamic university and meet some of the students there n visisted lots of islamic bookshops around the university n in madinah , it was just amazing.

I ask Allah to reward the government of saudi arabia for all their work n efforts in maintaining the haramain n managing everything, n i Ask Him to protect the Imams of the haramain , n teh Ulama n scholars n teh students of knowledge n to bless this beautiful land n protect it from all evil n protect its rulers.

Assalam O Alikum.

I noticed Fajr Salaah seems to be the peak for anyone's voice. Even my local Imaam, his Fajr voice cannot match his other Salaah voices, though all of them are excellent Masha'Allah.

He recites like Shatri...

I almost forgot to mention , i got to madinah around maghrib on the first day of eid , had to look for hotel n stuff so could not make it to maghrib n isha n had to pray them at a close by masjid. But next day went to masjid al nabawi for fajr , sheikh hudaifi lead a beautiful salah, i think he was there for dhur n asr as well , but at maghrib something special happened .. Sheikh Hussein Aal al Sheikh lead maghrib , it was the second day of eid .. n He recited AMAZING AYAAT , Just imagine being in haram al madani , in masjid al Nabi n sheikh Aal Al sheikh's beautiful voice n recitation n these Aayaat ...

56. Allâh sends His Salât (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy, etc.) on the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and also His angels too (ask Allâh to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salât[] on (ask Allâh to bless) him (Muhammad SAW), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islâmic way of greeting (salutation i.e. As*Salâmu 'Alaikum).

57. Verily, those who annoy Allâh and His Messenger (SAW)[] Allâh has cursed them in this world, and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating torment.

58. And those who annoy believing men and women undeservedly, bear on themselves the crime of slander and plain sin.

59. O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e.screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allâh is Ever Oft*Forgiving, Most Merciful[].

60. If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease (evil desire for adultery, etc.), and those who spread false news among the people in Al*Madinah, cease not, We shall certainly let you overpower them, then they will not be able to stay in it as your neighbours but a little while.

61. Accursed, wherever found, they shall be seized and killed with a (terrible) slaughter.

62. That was the Way of Allâh in the case of those who passed away of old, and you will not find any change in the Way of Allâh....

SubhanAllah !!1 I cant explain the feeling ... when the sheikh went .. Inna Allah wa Malaaikatahu yusaloon Ala nabi.... subhan Allah .. the ayat were so relevant .. we were right there in the prophet masjid n had just given salams to him sala lahu alihi wa sallam that was just the right ayah at the right time , AlhumdolILLAH , may Allah reward the sheikh , he takes his time with his verses . just like the Prophet used to do , he used to stop on each verse sala lahu alihi wa sallam
