Just today seen the clearest pic during taraweeh so far of what looks like one extension to Masjid al Haram. Maybe what Br AabiruSabeel was referring to here: http://www.islamicboard.com/general...-part-xii-ramadhan-1433-ah-4.html#post1536728

If you approach from the Baab al Fahd side and then continue walking just past Baab al Umrah, it looks like there's a new building there, one side of it is right by the side of Baab al Umrah, and it looks like it has a road/courtyard area between it and the main building of the masjid. Is the new extension attached to the main building of the masjid yet at any place? Couldn't tell from the pics if it was connected at Baab al Fat'h or at Marwah, or not, or even if the new building reaches that far.

I guess it's fully functional with people praying in it? Must accommodate many worshippers. Wonder how many floors...

To the best of my knowledge i dont think it was attached. A lot of work yet remains. One day i met a guy who does all testing of all materials in haram. Apparently its only open for ramadhan under the instruction of the king. Time to go for Tahajjud now. Yesterday after burial i came out and many were taking pictures of a very tall guy. One of the tallest in the world. Sheikh Hudhayfees Son brings iftar for his dad and two others and i think its him or aanother boy who uses the quran throughout taaweeh so hr can give out mistakes as he has been doing that today. When somethings free here people run although theres plenty.

Yes, the new expansion is not connected with the original building of Masjid Al-Haram. The old passageway in front of Bab 'Umrah to Bab Al-Fath is as it is. As per the plan, they will only connect the upper floors of the new expansion with the original Haram.

Apparently the new expansion will have ground floor, first floor, second floor and the terrace.

Most of the ground floor is completed and they have opened it for Ramadhan. You can find some recent pictures here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150287026173094.347789.92635318093&type=1

Future expansions might be like this:

Emotional recitation by Shaikh Salah Al-Budair tonight (26th night):

Recorded via the internet. It disconnected before completing the last Ayah.

:sl:Who is expected to do the Khatam dua in Masjid An Nabawi?

-------------------

Thousands of worshippers just gathered outside the grand mosque as there was a lot of cordening due to some important people from pakistan coming. Some followers followed the imam down to his car as this was visible through the big gaps of the cordening outside. Police followed sheikh Budair. Sheikh Hussayn today accidently stood up after the last qaadah as he thought he had just read 2 rakaats thats why there was sajdah sahw today. Sheikh Budair came also today for iftaar at the front which is unusual

Amazing Atmosphere In Rawdah In Between Al MUkkabarriyah And Pulpit For Fajr And Eid. Just How The Kaabah Door Has The Same Generation Having The Key For The Door, Does The Same Happen For The Pulpit As Loads Of People Took Pictures And Videos Of The Person Brining The Staff And Opening The Door. Sheikh Ayaadh Shukri When He Came For Tahajjud Adhan Loads Of People Got Up To Meet Him. Sheikh Omar And Abdul Majeed Came Together And Iv Realised Many Of The Muadhins Are Quite Old And Some Find It Difficult To Walk Up The Stairs. Sheikh Budair Is Leading Zuhr Which Could Mean This Year Sheikh Qasim Has Gone On Vacation. When They Emptied The Masjid Yesterday It Just Happen That In Front Of Me Was Sheikh Omar, Ayaadh And Budair In The Rawdah Which Had Only A Handful Of People As People Were Getting Moved. May Allah Accept All Our Ibaadah This Ramadhan And Grant Us Ikhlaas.

Is there any door in the grave of Prophet Muhammad SAW?I mean a door in the grills?

:wa:

Yes, there is a door but nobody is allowed inside expect for maintenance purpose. [HIDE]Recently they have installed CCTV cameras inside and moved the belongings of Aisha :raha: and Fatimah :raha: to a safer place. -According to a person who worked on the installation of CCTV cameras[/HIDE]

Just got back from Madinah/Umrah Alhamdullilah. What an experience. Every single moment was just amazing masha'Allah. Will iA post in detail soon but one of the highlights of the trip was getting to go into the Maktabah inside Masjid an-Nabawi and seeing the collection of old Mushafs that are kept in the Masjid and meeting the official calligrapher of Masjid an-Nabawi who was kind enough to do a small personal piece for me alhamdullilah:D. Also was able to meet Sh. Abdul Muhsin al Qasim and even got in a small convo in with Sh. Salah Budair in Madinah! :D

I really just wanna go back!

Do tell me more?

I spoke to one of the caretakers of the Masjid and he said they go inside there to clean every Wednesday (typically, but usually once a week) from the roof via a ladder. No one goes inside the circular wall inside which are the actual resting places, but rather inside the 5 walled room. He told me that there is the stick of the Messenger (saw) inside there, as well as what he used to sleep on and head rest.

If you have any more info about what's inside there, please share!

Assalamualaykum
Shaykh Abdul Gaffar after the 1st two units of prayer led by Sheikh Budair was told to increase the volume of the sound system so what he did was look at the cctv cameras and signalled to the sound room.

Is he the one turning back or the one who sits on a chair to his right?
