Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

According to this video it seemed to be pretty bad for the IDF soldiers. Mob of guys beating soldiers as they board one by one, one of them is even thrown overboard or to a lower deck.

I know its Israeli video by idfnadesk but parts of it has been seen on different angles on videos recorded by people on board the freedom flotilla, like on the video on the following link starting around 30 seconds when they attack the IDF members coming from up.

http://www.islamicboard.com/world-af...ml#post1333048 (Israeli forces attack aid Gaza aid flotilla, kill activists)

Im not entirely sure I can judge it so easily what would have been appropriate response to such violence but I can understand why overwhelmed soldiers could open fire in such situation.

Clearly it were the Israeli soldiers who attacked the humanitarian aid ship and thus are responible for all the consequences, deaths and injuries. People on board the ship were simply acting in self-defence. Israeli soldiers were coming from the air with guns, aboarded the ship by force with no justification. People fighting them off with sticks and poles must be seen as a response to the aggressive and inhumane entry of the IDF and not as a start of violence. Violence was started the moment Israeli vessels surrounded the Freedom Flotilla ships not allowing them to move freely in international waters and was continued when the IDF soldiers aggressively aboarded the Turkish ship.

According to international humanitarian law it doesnt seem to. Courtesy of Red Cross.

First quote is to show that this law is valid in the high seas aka international waters

That quote of international law was completely out of place and the claim related to it invalid as you simply quoted the wrong law. It is so because this was an extract from international law applicable to armed conflicts at sea, not about starting these conflicts, neither about attacking an unarmed humanitarian aid vessel. Also, the claims you made indicate that it's important to note that knives and metal poles do not make a ship an "armed vessel".

Let's better have a look at United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, that has more to do with this incident, especially its part VII which articles decare the following.
Article 87: Freedom of the high seas. That includes freedom of navigation (a).
Article 88: Reservation of the high seas for peaceful purposes. The high seas shall be reserved for peaceful purposes.
Article 89. No State may validly purport to subject any part of the high seas to its sovereignty.

Israel clearly violated these articles by attacking a humanitarian aid vessel in the high seas.

The people on the flotilla clearly declared they were going to go to and later journeyed towards and approached the Gaza strip. I dont think its unreasonable for Israel to believe that they are going to breach the blockade.

One of the main purposes of the whole thing was to breach the blockade. 1.5 million people have been suffering due to the blockade for about 3 years. The international community has clearly condemned the blockade, it's inhumane and unappropriate. The UN has clearly stated that the aid Israel allows to go through is less than a quarter than is needed. Plus no building materials are allowed through although hundreds of buildings (including schools and hospitals) were severely damaged late 2008 and early 2009 by Israel.

Anyone who is human enough would condemn such occupation and oppression of the Gazans. I hope you are too.

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

that was a great video of Israeli soldiers getting a beat..may Allah make their death come in extreme pain and suffer.

Seems like this is new for you.

Unfortunately they've stooped that low many times before.

Israel has killed in the past cameramen, reporters, civilians, peace activists, in fact anyone within firing/bulldozing range that tries to portray the truth of their atrocities.

eg see THIS link as just one example.

And THIS one.

Turkey Accuses Israel of 'State Terror', Recalls Envoy

Turkey on Monday accused Israel of "state terror" and recalled its ambassador after a deadly raid on Gaza-bound aid ships by Israeli forces left at least 19 dead, most of them Turkish nationals on the Mavi Marmara ship.
"It should be known that we will not stay silent and unresponsive in the face of this inhuman state terror," Erdogan said in live televised remarks ahead of his departure from Chile to Turkey, cutting short his Latin American tour.
"International law has been trampled underfoot," he added. "This attack has clearly shown once again that the Israeli government does not want peace in the region."

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc announced that the Turkish ambassador to Tel Aviv, Oguz Celikkol, was summoned back to Ankara and plans for three joint military exercises with Israel had also been scrapped.
Turkey has called an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, where it holds a non-permanent seat, he added.

Erdogan said that his country had also called for emergency NATO talks over the Israeli raid. An alliance spokesman said the meeting would take place Tuesday.
"By targeting civilians, Israel has once again shown its disregard for human life and peaceful initiatives," a Turkish foreign ministry statement said.
"This deplorable incident, which took place in open seas and constitutes a flagrant breach of international law, may lead to irreparable consequences in our bilateral relations.... Israel will have to bear the consequences of this behavior," it said.

Turkish army chief Ilker Basbug, who cut short a visit to Egypt and returned to Turkey Monday, told his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi in a telephone conversation that the use of military force against the aid ships was "grave and unacceptable", an army statement said.
Basbug also said that the Israeli raid "had led to very serious consequences", it added.

President Abdullah Gul said Turkey was demanding that Israel "swiftly carry out all necessary inquiries on the issue and punish those responsible."

Israeli ambassador Gabby Levy was summoned to the foreign ministry as thousands took to the streets across Turkey to protest the assault that came atop already deteriorating ties between Ankara and Tel Aviv.
Turkey asked for a detailed report on the fate of all people who were aboard the vessels, a Turkish diplomat told AFP, adding that they included nationals from 33 countries.

Levy was also told that the Turkish passengers and the wounded should be repatriated to Turkey in the shortest possible time and the vessels released, he said.

Some 10,000 people gathered at the central Taksim square in the country's biggest city Istanbul, burning Israeli flags and calling for a boycott of Israeli goods, an AFP photographer said.
"**** Israel!", "A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye, revenge, revenge!" chanted the protestors, carrying Turkish, Palestinian, and Hezbollah flags.
A crowd of some 1,000 people protested outside Levy's residence in Ankara, shouting "**** Israel" and reciting prayers.

The Israeli navy stormed the flotilla of six vessels as it sailed to Gaza in a bid to break the blockade of the impoverished enclave, in place since 2007, and deliver some 10,000 tons of supplies, killing 19 unarmed passengers.

Israel never adheres to International law and violates all 200 UN resolutions against them and you are still trying to defend them?

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

Still, the Israelis claim that the first Israeli soldiers to enter the ship were attacked with knives and clubs ... and there is video evidence to support the claim.

(BTW, I am not saying that the Israeli action was justified - neither the way they entered the ship in the first place, nor the force with which they reacted to being attacked. But the initial physical attacks appear to have come from those on the ship ... :hmm:)

ohhh yeah, there is video evidence, video evidence from the criminals? wow, how reliable, how about they show the whole video recording and not what they just want you to see.

furthermore there are many eyewitnesses who were on the boat who have given accounts of what has happened, israel ambushed them and went on their ships with guns. if a group of guys come into my ship with guns and i have sticks u think im not going to probaly want to defend myself?

whats the difference between these israeli thugs and pirates???

Naval operations in an armed conflict including the stopping of shipping weapons to one participant in a war via sea isnt armed conflict at sea? Just because Israel has complete superiority and Hamas is in a position where they are unable to do anything else than to try to rush ships to and from Gaza it isnt armed conflict at sea? What exactly is then armed conflict at sea?

You are from Finland, of course you are going to support your fellow Zionazi brothers, it doesn't surprise me. Why don't you go to some anti-Islam site where you belong?

I like to discuss with people who have different opinion than I. Sorry if that offends you but there is no need to try to insult me or Finland.

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

mr suom, you make me sick with your excuses for israel, you are the typical imperial hypocrite at its best. aid activists simply carrying aid are murdered and here you are giving your dumb justifications.

This disgraceful state sponsored murder of nine people has rewarded Israel with international condemnation, and rightfully so. However, there needs to be something more to show Israel it cannot go about doing this and get away with it. There needs to be tougher diplomatic action- a few protesters in Turkey and the suspension of some joint military exercises is hardly going to teach Israel a lesson, is it? The big players need to act- the UK, EU, and possibly even the United States.

I pray that the victims will be safe and their families comforted; I also pray that God forgives the Israeli soldiers responsible for this brutal crime.

Yours is not an "opinion", you are simply supporting Israeli terror and occupation and massacres. Israel never adheres to international law and is violating all 200 UN resolutions against them, and yet you are still trying to defend them. Of course Israel and the West in general are above the law, I understand....

^^ I remember him from some other forums in the past, he is your typical brainwashed Muslim hater, or in other words: typical westerner. I know there are some good people in the West but they are a minority. The majority are extremely pro-Israel and pro U.S; the warmongers and biggest violaters of international law. This is undeniable, I'm not offending anyone, it's the truth.

Give me an authentic source where it says that those ships were carrying weapons. Try to look for sources before you speak again. People like you are ignorant, no matter what Israel does, you will be at its feet saying "We are here for you at your service, master" Freaking Idiots.

We are suffering so much! I want justice now! Justice for each and every of my Muslim brother and sister!!!

I just watched BBC and CNN and both these channels have infuriated me like hell! These channels DISGUST me! So biased have been there attempts to present the “absolute inhumane act of Israel” as something which was done in self-defense! Now are we realizing how important it was to have an unbiased, Muslim voice; to have a Muslim news channel of our own were the news are not tempered in any way and only truth prevails in every news! Shame on us, the so called “Muslim Ummah”, that we don’t have any of such news channels which should have reached Muslim masses! Al-Jazeerah if you say is an Islamic news channel, then know this that it doesn’t even stand a single chance in front of BBC and CNN. The audience of the latter channels is just 50 times huge in number than Al-Jazeerah’s audience!

I request you all my dear Muslim brothers and sisters to pray to Allah that He may give enough strength to Dr.Zakir Naik to launch a world-wide Muslim news channel too! He dreams of having one and it is one of my biggest desires too that may Allah grant us a powerful Muslim news channel of our own! BBC and CNN will never voice the Muslims properly as they are under the Jews who are our open enemies! So please pray after every Salah to Allah, to unite us and grant us a powerful voice of our own!

Now let me just share with you some of the cunning strategies of BBC and CNN that I’ve noticed so far. BBC and CNN reporters, you will find, paying more stress to unimportant statements, e.g; the news reporter said that Turkey has announced that the Israeli raid may leave a negative lasting effect on the relationships of the two countries, and these are, she said “very strong words”. But why the hell she goes on ignoring the main part of the sentence that
“BECAUSE ISRAEL HAS SLAUGHTERED 12 TURKISH PEOPLE, so this Israeli raid will leave a lasting, negative effects on the relationship!”

These two sentences have a world of a difference between them!

Then BBC and CNN show the footage of the people on the aid ship attacking the commandos. The pigs said that “as soon as the commandos landed on the ship, the people of the ship ATTACKED them with sticks and bows. 20 or 30 people attacking a single soldier”.
First of all news reporters are always deemed as un-biased and so should not pass “COMMENTS” on any side until and unless the enquiry clears up everything. But by these pigs’ above sentences, it is far clearer that they are becoming sympathetic to Israelis and sort of supporting them by it. It’s totally clear!
And secondly, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THEIR BRAINS?! Do bows or sticks look to you a bigger threat than GUNS?! The poor people of the ship were not even trained whereas the Israelis were full-fledged COMMANDOS, who have received special war training and know how to use guns and weapons. They were even physically stronger than the people on the ship because these are army people who undergo exercise after exercise and so develop physical strength. And do Israel wants us to believe that there full-fledged commandos, having guns fully loaded guns with them, were scared of the “ooh sharp” knives and sticks?!

These news channels showed the footage ONLY when people were attacking the commandos and presented it as if it was also a terrorist attack. Who knows that first Israeli Commandos have already shot some people dead, then they started landing on the board from helicopters, and the people totally terrified now, started to do THEIR self-defense?!!! They only part of the video which the Turkish people were able to make was that of the part explained above. What if there was more to it?

Even if it’s not the case, still Israel is so doomed as it SHOT 20 PEOPLE DEAD!!! No one would shoot 20 innocent civilians in self-defense! 20 human lives is such a BIG number! No justification they can offer there.

The ship was not on the Israeli water, but was only in the international water, and so Israel had just no right to do any kind of checking! And do you know people, I feel like as if CNN is helping the Israel with their statements. Now see here how the CNN reporter so mischievously tried to help Israel out of the problem by spinning clever sentences for it. She said that “Israel wanted to have PRIMITIVE measures to ensure security on the first hand” and so that is why it began the operation while the ship was still in international water! These Satans…!

There was also a black and white footage on CNN which someone was making from the dock. Now here the clever idea was that ONLY those Muslims on the ship were focused which were hitting commandos with sticks! No dead Muslim was shot in the footage, neither the soldiers were that much focused. So the whole thing gave just one sided picture that only the Muslims were retaliating and attacking while the “peaceful commandos” allowed themselves being bitten! And further, the footage was specially tagged at various points; at one point, a circle was drawn around a Muslim and text was written there “Muslim hitting a soldier” so that viewers whole concentration diverts to what they want us to see!

These are some of the points I’ve observed so far. InshAllah will try to come up with more.
So now it definitely proves that CNN and BBC are totally biased channels and will never show honestly, the two sides of the picture!

Please don’t forget to pray to Allah to grant us a world-class, powerful Muslim News Channel too through which we would promote Truth and only Truth! :(

Re: Turkish aid ships set sail for Gaza

I'm sick and tired of such people, they even insult us in our ISLAMIC FORUMS. Their hatred and animosity knows no boundaries!

One more point:

CNN and BBC is saying that 9 people are dead whereas TWENTY PEOPLE have been murdered and more than 60 are injured. And not just slightly injured but some are shot in their leg, some elsewhere in the body!

So again one more Satanic strategy of these news channels to hide the real blood thirsty picture of Israel from the world!

Are you claiming there has never been a situation where weapons have been delivered to Gaza via sea during the conflict?

Right. And you are all the Argamemnons in the internet? Suomipoika has meaning in finnish, that being finnish boy. Im sorry for lacking imagination when choosing forum nick but that hardly is a reason for more personal attacks.

I'm sick and tired of such people, they even insult us in our ISLAMIC FORUMS. Their hatred and animosity knows no boundaries!

Actually since I started posting all the personal attacks and insults in this thread have been directed at me.
