when an إضافة becomes a 'name' for something then it becomes ممنوع من الصرف
...how?

As in how does this work? I found it in some old notes and I can't remember it properly...Is this true? (I'm not sure whether I made a mistake in copying it down or what)

hm u misuderstanding . izafat is a type of murakab but the murakab when becomes a name hence ghair munsarif is names such as بعليك made up of two words .. which dont hav nisbat izafee iniside. hence it is mamnu min asarf

check out alfiyah ibn malik poems numbered 138 -141.. in most cases its the kabar thats mahzuf wujubun and not the mubtda
