What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?

A sponge? I dunno.

You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?

A can of sweetcorn. Bear with me. You throw away the outside (the can), cook the inside (corn). Now, corn is surrounded by cellulose which cannot be digested by the body. You'll get the goodness, but you won't fully digest the pieces of corn - really, it's true! Look in the toilet next time you eat corn

What goes up and down the stairs without moving?

Banister/railing.

What can you catch but not throw?

A cold.

I can run but not walk. Wherever I go, thought follows close behind. What am I?

A nose. Close behind it is the brain.

What goes around the world but stays in a corner?

A man was found murdered on Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police. The police questioned the wife and staff and got these alibis:
The Wife said she was sleeping.
The Cook was cooking breakfast.
The Gardener was picking vegetables.
The Maid was getting the mail.
The Butler was cleaning the closet.

The police instantly arrested the murdered. Who did it and how did they know?

Okay i couldn't help but to post this riddle!!
To me it's kinda dumb but oh well!!

Question:

You are on an island in the middle of a lake. The lake is in a remote part of the country and there has never been a bridge connecting the island to the mainland.

Every day a tractor and wagon gives hay rides around the island. Puzzled as to how the tractor had gotten onto the island, you ask around and find out that the tractor was not transported to the island by boat or by air. Nor was it built on the island.

Explain how the tractor got there?
