It looked like the basic shape of one form of show flake it looked like the hexagonal pattern to me although it is a pentagon. Memory slipped, I thought there were pentagonal snowflakes. Although no two snow flakes are identical there are only a few basic shape. Different shapes for different temperature ranges.

Same, I always thought Snowflakes were the "Dendrite" shape.
