we normally just say

"shokhol bala ni" to enquire about family but if you wanna be really posh lol i gues you can ask

"afnar bhai,boyn,maa baaf, shokhol bala ni" guess wat taht means lol

i wonder if anyone can accurately say a hadeeth in bengali, so many times i try explain a hadith i read to amma but lol i get lost... bengali needs more words!!

sis pick the shortest hadeeth and try translating it, its hard!

for example

“Fear Allah no matter where you are. Do a good deed after an evil one and your good deed will wipe out the evil one; behave well with people.”

Tirmidhi with a chain up to Abu Dharr and Mu'az son of Jabal (sp) related that the Prophet (sa) said this.

Yh masha'ALLAH thats good, even though I didnt understand some of the words.

Its probably easier to translate if you know the shuddo basha no? I think that the vocabulary is somewhat limited with the syhleti basha and it doesnt sound as eloquent.

Its ok, I used the quote Br. IbnAbdulHakim posted and guessed what the words probably meant. This was one of the more difficult ones "muchey felbey"

I think I'll stick to trying to improve my poor syhleti for the time being insha'ALLAH. Jazak'ALLAH Khair anyway.
