As-Salaam alaikum,
The formula of Unity in the Islamic creed is built of 2 elements, which are called the negation (nafy) and the affirmation (ithbat). 'No god' negates all illusion and unreality, and 'but God' affirms the unique reality of the Real.

Together, negation and affirmation establish a dialectic that reveberates throughout Sufi teachings. The formula denies the independent reality of all other (ghayr) and affirms the sole reality of the One.

Everything other than God is evanescent, fading, disappearing, God alone is permanent, everlasting, appearing... "Everything in the earth is undergoing annihilation", says the Qur'an, "and there subsists the face of your Lord, the possessor of Majesty and Generosity" (55:26)

This ayat/verse provides one of the more common conceptual pairs used in the dialectic of negation and affirmation, that is, annihilation (fana) and subsistence (baqa).

The formula of Tawheed provides not only the theory behind realization but also a good deal of the practice. It is, for example, one of the most common formulae of remembrance, Zikr, employed by the Sufi Orders and it provides much of the framework for meditation on God and His bounty.

Sufis consider the first word of the formula, La or 'no', to a sword, used to cut away all 'others' until only the Real remains. The 'others' to be negated are the world and its creatures, the nonexistent things that appear to us as existent.

In God I have believed, on Him I rely.
--------

The Sufis are like the Hindu gurus, most of them, at least, a lot of them.

They believe God is love and that you are God (I take refuge in God from the accursed Satan).

"Ana Al-Haqq Ana Al-Haqq" - Sufi master Mansur.

No, you are not. God Alone and Only is the Truth.

These kind of sufis are disbelievers, anyone saying "I am God" or I am "The Truth" or anything like that, is a disbeliever, and he is worse than even the pigs who call themselves atheists.

And as Prophet Jesus, peace and blessings of God be upon him, were questioned and asked if he took himself as god besides God (Quran), these sufi liars will too.

God is the Most Great.

As-Salaam alaikum,
May I Sir, refer to your's above about the Sufi Masters and say that No, they are not like Hindu Gurus.
The examples you cited like that of Sheikh Mansur Hallaj saying : "ANAL HAQQ.. I am the Truth" or that of Sheikh Abu Yazid al-Bistami uttering : "SUBHANI.. how great is my majesty)"
All these were/are Ecstatic Utterances (Shathiyat), that is verbal overflowing of the mystical encounter with the Divine and in relation to fana, is the expression of the Divine through the vehicle of the physical body of the Sufi whilst his awareness of individuality is annihilated.
So, with our Masters, the Sufis, in a situation like that of Bayazid you cited, or any similar ones, Maulana Bayazid Bistami was either speaking rhetorically or that it was God who uttered the word through him, as at the moment of mystical Union, upon the vision of the unity of God (Tawheed), Bayazid would have lost all consciousness of the self and, being lost in God, his very utterances would be the result of this encounter.... or the result of the cessation of the illusion of separation.

The Sufi is a witness or Shahid, the proof of love... And the inner reality of love is that you always remain with your Beloved and strip off your own qualities.
Wallahu Ta'ala A'alam.
Best Regards.

I can understand that God can utter things through your mouth and voice, that has happened to me many times, before.

God is with me.

God is in me.

So that has happened a lot to me.

I am fully conscious of God, right this very second, I am 24/7 so, always, not a slight second not being so, but always, being so.

God is Absolute Existence, that is to say, that God, exists Absolutely, and God does utter "I am Truth, Absolute Truth, The Truth, The Absolute Truth", or "I am God" or "I Am", God can and does Say those things through a human.

But it's' not you, it's God, uttering those Words through your voice.

And you can be fully conscious of yourself (as one does), and simultaneously, be conscious of God (as one does), and being with God and God being with you, not union or oneness, but Togetherness.

Not being conscious of oneself, getting annihilated etc, this is nonsense.

To God is my certain return, on Him, I rely.

As-Salaam alaikum,
Again, with all due respect when the Sufi Masters and their Mureeds speak and/or teach on the subject of 'FANA' and 'BAQA' they were not speaking 'nonsense'... SUBHANALLAH!!
In their terminology, al-baqa means 'Subsistence' in God, while literally fully in the world : they apply part of the celebrated Hadith-Qudsi to al-baqa... "Then when I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his hand with which he grasps, and his foot with which he walks."

In the station of fana (annihilation), a man cannot see anyone else but God, in baqa, he sees Him in everything... This is the context in which I used the 2 terms of fana and baqa.... And in any case, the aim of the Sufi is to be the son of the instant (Ibn waqt) or the son of his time. This echoes the Qur'anic allusion : "Each day He is upon some task" (55:29).

Without considering the past or the furture, we should observe the effect of the Divine Presence in the 'here and now', whatever this presence may take. A Hadith-Qudsi warns: "Don't insult time, for God is time". Thus every time or instant is the time of God, and the trace of His Wisdom... Tabaraka Wa Ta'ala.

"Then when I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his hand with which he grasps, and his foot with which he walks."

I know this very well.

God is Totally Formless, God is not 'in' anyone or anything actually, God just IS, Anywhere He Wills. He can be Anywhere wheresoever He Wills, in other instances, God is not there, but God Sees it, God Sees and Hears absolutely everything. When God is somewhere, first of all, you will become aware of His Divine Light and Holy Presence, since God is Divine and Holy, all praise and glory be to Him.

As for God being in the here and now, that is true, but actually, God was in the past, and He is now, and He is in the future. God Always IS (He Always exists)* God is the Eternally Living, God has existed forever and will exists forever, and never ever will He die, and He exists Always, and forever He has, and forever He will exists, glory and praise be to Him.

To God I will, certainly, return, on Him, I rely.
