From one biography book on Prophet:
Abu bakar, Prophet and one more sahaba was left. Abu bakar and Prophet left for madinah whilst the other sahaba stayed to return all the things of Mekkah ppl, which was in Prophet's keeping.
so tha answer is only abu bakar, the story further continues on to tell how Prophet and Abu bakar went in a cave, and a spider wove a web and dove laid eggs on it.

n wat i read was Prophet saws was accompanied by Hazrat Abu Bakr r.a, who also took his slave alongwid.
remember the story of Suraqa bin Malik,
that also tells there were 3 persons.

u sure? i heard when Prophet arrived at madinah, abu bakar got off his camel to show Prophet Muhammed was the Prophet of Allah not abu bakar?

The Prophet of Allah (sallallah-hoalahi-wassalam) said that I can tell you when I hear the quran being recited whose house is the Ashari family houses - due to the way they recite the quran!
