Re: Does the Holy Quran say that the Jews or the Children of Israel Broke the Covenan

Salaam/Peace

...God mentions in numerous places in the Quran that the Jews broke the covenant God made with them, through various transgressions they committed in their religion. These transgressions, varied from falling in to error and worshipping others besides God, an act which broke the first of the ten commandments[2], to changing and interpolating the Torah to their befitting[3].

Out of the Mercy of God, He continued to send prophets to them for their rectification. Instead of following the Prophets which God sent to them, if they brought something which the Rabbis did not like, they would reject the Prophets and even kill them.

This certainly amounted to disbelief in God, and, due to this, the favor which God had for the Jews was lifted. God says in the Quran:
“Indignity is put over them (the Jews) wherever they may be, except when under a covenant (of protection) from God, and from men; they have drawn on themselves the Wrath of God, and destruction is put over them. This is because they disbelieved in the Signs of God and killed the Prophets without right.

This is because they disobeyed (God) and used to transgress beyond bounds (in God's disobedience, crimes and sins).” (Quran 3:112)

...
“Verily those who disbelieve from among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.” (Quran 98:6)

I know that fornication is wrong and a sin because God says so but is fornication al

I know that fornication is wrong and a sin because God says so but is fornication also wrong because there is no commitment without marriage without the marriage contract or the marriage covenant ? Also in Islam is marriage a contract or a covenant how does marriage work in the Quran or the Hadith ? The reason Im asking about fornication is because I want to explain to other people why it is wrong and not moral it is a sin.

Also this is interesting;

{ And come not near to the unlawful sexual intercourse. Verily, it is a Fahishah[i.e. anything that transgresses its limits (a great sin)], and an evil way)

[Surah Israa' 17:32]

A young man from the Muslim countries came to the USA for study, and he saw the freedom people had to do whatever sin they wanted.

So he went to a party, and at night time, he went to sleep with a stranger girl, and commited zina [fornication].

The next morning he woke up, the girl had gone. So he put on his trousers, and saw a note in his pocket.

He took it out, and read the note:

"Welcome to the AIDS group".

Re: I know that fornication is wrong and a sin because God says so but is fornication

You have to explain it? I honestly thought it to be an obvious vice which people willingly indulge in knowing full well of its evils.

For example, when a man finishes his misdeed and finds himself laying next to that woman then immediately the immoral wreck hits him, He knows at that point... yet his lusts drive him forward to commit more.

Was the Prophet Muhammad told in a dream by an Angel from God to marry

Was the Prophet Muhammad told in a Dream by an Angel from God to marry
Aisha ? Are these quotes from the Hadith ?

Interpretation of Dreams
Volume 9, Book 87, Number 111:
Narrated 'Aisha:
The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Apostle was in the form of good righteous (true) dreams in his sleep. He never had a dream but that it came true like bright day light. He used to go in seclusion (the cave of) Hira where he used to worship(Allah Alone) continuously for many (days) nights. He used to take with him the journey food for that (stay) and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food like-wise again for another period to stay, till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him in it and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, "I do not know how to read." (The Prophet added), "The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and again asked me to read, and I replied, "I do not know how to read," whereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it anymore. He then released me and asked me again to read, but again I replied, "I do not know how to read (or, what shall I read?)." Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me and then released me and said, "Read: In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists). Has created man from a clot. Read and Your Lord is Most Generous...up to..... ..that which he knew not." (96.15)
Then Allah's Apostle returned with the Inspiration, his neck muscles twitching with terror till he entered upon Khadija and said, "Cover me! Cover me!" They covered him till his fear was over and then he said, "O Khadija, what is wrong with me?" Then he told her everything that had happened and said, 'I fear that something may happen to me." Khadija said, 'Never! But have the glad tidings, for by Allah, Allah will never disgrace you as you keep good reactions with your Kith and kin, speak the truth, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guest generously and assist the deserving, calamity-afflicted ones." Khadija then accompanied him to (her cousin) Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza bin Qusai. Waraqa was the son of her paternal uncle, i.e., her father's brother, who during the Pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the Arabic writing and used to write of the Gospels in Arabic as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to him, "O my cousin! Listen to the story of your nephew." Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" The Prophet described whatever he had seen.
Waraqa said, "This is the same Namus (i.e., Gabriel, the Angel who keeps the secrets) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Apostle asked, "Will they turn me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said: "Never did a man come with something similar to what you have brought but was treated with hostility. If I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while and the Prophet became so sad as we have heard that he intended several times to throw himself from the tops of high mountains and every time he went up the top of a mountain in order to throw himself down, Gabriel would appear before him and say, "O Muhammad! You are indeed Allah's Apostle in truth" whereupon his heart would become quiet and he would calm down and would return home. And whenever the period of the coming of the inspiration used to become long, he would do as before, but when he used to reach the top of a mountain, Gabriel would appear before him and say to him what he had said before. (Ibn 'Abbas said regarding the meaning of: 'He it is that Cleaves the daybreak (from the darkness)' (6.96) that Al-Asbah. means the light of the sun during the day and the light of the moon at night).

Volume 9, Book 87, Number 139:
Narrated 'Aisha:
Allah's Apostle said (to me), "You were shown to me twice in (my) dream. Behold, a man was carrying you in a silken piece of cloth and said to me, "She is your wife, so uncover her,' and behold, it was you. I would then say (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' "

Volume 9, Book 87, Number 140:
Narrated 'Aisha:
Allah's Apostle said to me, "You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you. I saw an angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said to him, 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' Then you were shown to me, the angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said (to him), 'Uncover (her), and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' "

I'd be quite interested to learn more about that too. :)

If you are interested in a more in depth look at the subject, and the History of Islam as a whole, I would recommend you get this PBS production.

PBS. Islam Empire of Faith

I would recommend it highly even to Muslims to have this in their library.

Re: Is it true that Islam and the Muslims pulled Europe out of the Dark Ages what Boo

Islamic efforts in sciences are one of the main factors that helped the establishment of today's scientific edifice, not only in europe, but worldwide.
That's said, no country or civilisation has the right to claim it was the origin of today's science. Let's insist on the fact that muslims were based on the books elaborated by ancient civilisations like egyptians, greeks, indians, etc.. And yes muslims have made a great effort to rectify these ancient sources and to construct great scientific works upon them using their creativity and the momentum of scientific activities that existed in the islamic world.
Science is an incremental work of construction, it has no origins, it's a human patrimony. Muslims have made a great increment of contribution in this construction, like the west is offering his contribution today, and without the islamic contribution, I don't think the west could have done this progress in his contribution to science.

I only have one more question on this subject why did Moses see a burning bush I mean

Re: I only have one more question on this subject why did Moses see a burning bush I

Qur'an Surah 28 Al-Qasas - Verses 29-30

And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there [some] information or burning wood from the fire that you may warm yourselves." 28:29

But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allah , Lord of the worlds." 28:30

From Tafsir Ibn Kathir regarding these verses:

"Musa missed his country and his relatives, so he resolved to visit them in secret, without Fir`awn and his people knowing. So he gathered up his family and the flocks which his father-in-law had given to him, and set out on a cold, dark, rainy night. They stopped to camp, and whenever he tried to start a fire, he did not succeed. He was surprised by this, and while he was in this state,

(he saw a fire in the direction of At-Tur) he saw a fire burning from a far.

(He said to his family: "Wait, I have seen a fire...'') meaning, `wait while I go there, '

(perhaps I may bring to you from there some information,) This was because they lost their way.

(or a burning firebrand that you may warm yourselves.) so that they could get warm and find relief from the cold.

Re: Was the Prophet Muhammad told in a dream by an Angel from God to marry

Yes.

2 Marriages Allah inspired to Prophet Muhammad; the marriage to Aisha, and the marriage to Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with them.) :)

Re: Is it true that Islam and the Muslims pulled Europe out of the Dark Ages what Boo

Actually "pulled out" is not correct word. But European Christians learned many knowledge, technologies, new inventions, motivation in learn, and many more from Muslims when they meet Muslims in the serial wars that called Crusade by Christians.

Re: Did Jesus speak in the cradle right after he was born ?

Did Jesus speak in the cradle right after he was born ?

According to the Qur'an: "Yes". But according to the Bible: "No". John 2:11 states that Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine at a marriage feast in Cana.

Re: Is it true that Islam and the Muslims pulled Europe out of the Dark Ages what Boo

Peace,

Yup and you'll find that various of the discoveries made by the early Muslims were Quran inspired :)
