You don't like school much, do you? Are there any subjects you do like?

With regard to the reason for learning history, it's common for all nations to teach their history to students. If you live in China, you'll learn Chinese history; if you live in Turkey, you'll learn Turkish history. This is not surprising at all. It helps students understand the background to everything they see all around them, and why things in that country are the way they are. The simple reason you are learning about the history of a specific country is that you live there.

As for myself, I agree with Rabi'ya:

I love english language...understanding how and whereand why we use certain words.

I hate....nothing in particular really...

Peace

yes true i dont like school much, maybe one day when i grow up to be about 30 yrs old then maybe ill feel good tht i learned in school but for now since im still in school, ill object towards it :p

btw u sound like a teacher or a principal or someone in school??
am i right??

oh and also, i do like one subject, maths....

Hello Gandalf,

You're spot on - I'm an English teacher. It's a shame you don't enjoy much of school, but if you enjoy maths that's a huge advantage. It can help you with lots of other subjects, so make sure you keep it up.

I was useless at maths at school, so I'm really jealous! ;)

Peace

I was rubbish at maths but liked my teachers.

I was good at English but only liked one or two of my teachers.

It makes no sense man! :p

That's an interesting one - teachers you like teaching subjects you don't! It's happened to me a few times - anyone else?

One of my favourite teachers ever taught Latin and Greek. He was so knowledgable and entertaining but I still couldn't get my head round those languages...

Peace

Happened to me too.... I had a teacher who was really nice... But... she taught math and I had no choice but to only pretend I was listening in class... :thumbs_do

Which is why I've saved it especially for the subject of math....:coolsis:

You may hate it, but im guessing its because you dont appreciate it...

:D

Salam,
I don't really hate any subject...It sometimes depends if the teacher/professor is good. I like English but once I had this teacher whom I didn't like. Math is fun, especially algebra.

Wa'salam

Well, if such things existed or not, woudn't make much of a difference... And why can't math be optional anyway? Competely ruins my gpa and I'm stuck being a sore loser now cause our teacher is sooo slow...

Then perhaps you should find comfort in Allah and work harder, here, have a cookie...

*holds out cookie*

Greetings,

Although I was useless at maths at school, I can see the point of it. Without maths, there'd be no physics, no electronics, no engineering and any number of other studies. A computer is little more than an extremely fast calculator plus memory, invented using the ingenuity of mathematics.

Incidentally, as everyone knows, the numeric system we use today was invented by Arabs, including the number zero. Zero always impresses me. Try imagining a world without any zeroes. Can you imagine the sheer genius it would take to invent it? It doesn't sound like much, but I think it's an amazing invention.

Peace

Wise words comg from Callum (czgibson) there! Geniuses did invent things that now we take for granted. This laptop that I'm using for example. Such a small object with so much potential and capacity.

Incidentally, I actually enjoy doing Maths. First I was in a low class, then they moved me up one, then they moved me up another one. So I've had quite a ride, lol! My GCSE target for Maths is A but InshaAllah I hope to get an A*. I hope I'm not being too ambitious but InshaAllah I want to make my family proud and we all know that where there is a will, there is a way and an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.
